Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

G) X/ E1 n nPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person" w1 d! Z% c0 U* o' D
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST; Y3 N, b. |; ^/ k3 ~6 s% b$ x3 E% |
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately9 W. y0 E( b, E3 T
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter7 R' b! a& O$ |4 k
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
5 H2 H! K3 ~+ _0 j• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents7 Y2 E- t! A& I. F" N, D
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker. b2 [' W# E: N* L8 M" |
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events$ Y/ i' m7 m9 y5 r r" B
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events5 [6 r; K0 |! n& [, E0 j
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean* l8 I2 W* }- v
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned" i O" J- K- |, D
• Report to ISP Program Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
6 V0 @5 B+ u, P- H+ ]& U, T0 `• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person, I+ j- _7 _, j& S9 X! q
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
, E" h! G$ A* W- t& Y• Good English writing and oral communication skills
8 U5 b; Q$ @% N2 A y! y• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
' \* v' z/ n: m. I3 [• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook. d) x7 {8 k# |" @
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately

• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment2 a6 m4 k5 T" R$ r" J
• Knowledge of immigrant services
1 Q+ [6 @: z4 h: lQualifications:9 e& j3 ~5 H: ~& }( I; H
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience " _7 `( Y2 k/ u4 G/ x3 o
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
: r( |5 I* l' x, q1 N8 ~• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
+ S! E \, s7 K, F• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
