Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:# X5 ], n4 }' W- Q2 r1 B$ ^# g1 ^9 @
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person1 `9 }$ }' f& W1 U* w+ @
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST" R. X: U' @4 |1 ?. S& |% C5 b! R
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
+ a) {: y, c7 \: ^/ o6 G+ T! i• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter6 {/ t, l+ F# h, p; q: G
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
8 T0 Z1 c, W5 T! R6 f6 Y% w• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
0 ^6 t. ? @" ?4 y% f" H. e5 o• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker/ J7 e& J" Z' Q+ ^4 Y }
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
# Z* q# m- G; q# y; U• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events0 g: a+ C5 Q1 a* l* @0 C3 U# j
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean, c, [, U' y! ]- r! B4 R* |
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

6 o! a: H9 C! a1 w• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
+ n$ P( Y: Y+ }; g2 P1 Q• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
& {9 X# Q0 Z% ^/ ?- t• Good English writing and oral communication skills: H! e& Q0 ?) b# B9 h# e+ K; W
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients( ^( X, I1 `2 L. G; v" e& c
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook$ C% d. { m. h5 N2 [5 p, `' s
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately + B$ h1 F0 c$ P9 @. R% [* P
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds' `' `0 X/ E! I2 ]6 J
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment! Y- l( ^0 D/ S( o& [+ C6 D( U8 \
• Knowledge of immigrant services

% J( T+ x& t" r7 C• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience + k6 [2 Q6 n, O% N( e6 O7 L
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
" _; W9 ^( R0 s2 z" ~# `• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
; E1 B+ ^: a1 |& [7 M! d" W• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
