Responsibilities  
Identify and evaluate strategic technologies that are beneficial in enhancing storage and backup infrastructure services

7 i- V* i4 `; L$ B8 U4 |( P1 UProvide secondary triage of client issues and problems that have been escalated from the Service Desk

. ~  C! I1 q1 i6 rInstall and configure NetApp  Data OnTap, HP EVA Storage Array hardware, HP Tape Backup products, CommVault Backup software, Legato NetWorker Backup software (Legacy) and various other appliances
  @# s' O+ f2 l( T0 i4 H
Working with other OSS team members to identify, plan, and configure Solaris, HPUX, Linux and Windows servers for integration into the Storage and Backup environment

4 i& x  S3 V$ t+ k6 k; xManage applications that support the Storage and Backup infrastructure, including  CommVault, Legato NetWorker, DPM, Quest, and other custom applications

$ @' y- Q) K& p7 q2 DImplement and support vendor and industry best practices and procedures for the storage and backup environments

8 F- ?% M* e& m+ q/ o. |1 qProvide recommendations and design strategies to improve the operation of the environment based on analysis, trending and forecasting

- D. ~" H8 W" B6 p  z' J% UDesign and implement processes and procedures to improve the operation of the environment.

. e9 y- I& U; hWrite and maintain Perl / shell scripts for day to day administration and automation

4 A2 A6 T! q: L0 g3 G# iLiaising with IT customers to determine their requirements and ensure that business needs are effectively translated into solutions

Provide after hours support for  business critical systems  
0 ?- c6 C* y& E9 I" ?5 E+ A Qualifications  
% M; b* Q( O# {- }- Y& @ A degree or diploma in Computing Science or Computer Engineering or a related Information Technology discipline
& q5 s$ ^: N% ~0 V7 l2 E+ g& L
. w4 s3 v: @" A" h: [; G* CExcellent working knowledge of SAN topologies and technologies with a primary emphasis on NetApp data OnTap, HP EVA storage arrays and Brocade switches.Previous experience managing a SAN with the above technologies is mandatory

Excellent working knowledge of CommVault Simpana 8 or higher,  Legato NetWorker backup software

Excellent working knowledge of storage virtualization technologies and concepts

* z( z+ Q  v. V7 B) k3 O$ l( LPrevious experience with administration of Solaris, HPUX, Linux, and/or Windows would be an asset

7 Q# `1 Q, I$ I& Y! Z* J3 MExcellent verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating effectively with various levels of management

A high level understanding of IT technical infrastructure requirements for large enterprise deployments

9 h# R: ]! v) b9 N" h1 KAbility to interpret business drivers and translate into technical solutions

1 K/ v# B, L% b6 hThorough understanding of Information Technology business practices and processes, including ITIL

; q0 d* n" E, z( D6 _. f  ^Ability to excel in a self-directed environment

Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Visio, is an asset
