Job Description:; h4 O1 \9 u" L4 y6 g
• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed- a2 d8 D; X9 @, v# m1 e* d7 V
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
( R( c( a3 \! _5 C5 A• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers. U1 q6 U0 Y6 u) i( r! n( I0 o) G
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams' b6 |0 Z! f) Z/ R. y8 z
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place7 _8 m8 o; z1 E
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
N; o+ v% s0 r" a; a0 I" T6 g• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
4 U4 q5 B/ \, Q: y, z4 ]. d• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
' {9 g% W- T9 j* d$ r9 R9 R! ~• Mix paint, blend and match colors
6 C3 K* B D {+ @ ~) Q• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
1 r1 t' Q0 ?$ B$ p. D7 p• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs4 k+ ~# u; N- A, B# C
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation. g; g) R( c" [! j# [+ w
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

' R. y9 B2 C( G5 ?+ h• Completion of secondary school is required
- U* e4 d" t/ x• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
