. i* Q8 x* ^- G( {9 u( o x• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
. s# n$ J0 @4 ], V1 c9 S• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
% Y! f' Q! m5 M D: d2 C• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
5 Q( A8 H9 {0 T+ u {9 A: G• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams! h' @7 \/ J w6 i/ O) Z* @
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place0 G- `' @1 d9 U* l
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
( A4 _0 ^" r4 m3 z' k ^$ Z& k• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools0 s/ I7 @4 v: m2 S
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting+ B9 N+ g) S x' z6 w
• Mix paint, blend and match colors% J: U( @9 F$ ]8 y
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns) V. d; c5 k! f: ^$ t6 W, z
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
" A0 n; T5 G$ {/ x/ n• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation0 f( p2 w Q2 ?5 S7 f) l
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling0 d0 }* z6 k/ Y G( z$ m. _2 K
Education and Experience Requirements:, p8 s" @# k9 ^1 P/ D
• Completion of secondary school is required v, z8 M$ b' h. N* |1 t
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program r7 U# j" w4 N
or
5 Q" t8 b* u6 I- S- y: XA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade 0 n+ m; ]0 U& W8 O/ l: b( {
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
