Job Description:
•        Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
, G( w0 Q4 E: ]3 a1 n9 [3 ]•        Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
•        Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
•        Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
•        Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
" t" E7 w; c3 A•        Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
% C4 d4 o  I: Z7 e( u•        File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
•        Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
: k, b" _; ?" I: l' M* m+ K0 G# S•        Mix paint, blend and match colors
•        Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
$ i2 B+ E% z( k•        Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
+ C5 v( q- Q6 s* c( b% X•        Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
•        Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
2 I% l/ C* a! `0 B& Z" mEducation and Experience Requirements:
2 i) z6 k9 R, f( _- j. i•        Completion of secondary school is required
5 `3 Q9 p4 S) l; H, j, D: M' M8 s•        Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
or
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
4 T1 w$ n8 U6 k) W2 h& F1 G8 ~•        Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
