In general, key aspects of the role are:
: l. z+ u' C4 f1 ]-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
# Y" t' j7 R( _" \. W$ r-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
+ M) ?* F- Q0 I! c4 A-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
7 W+ g# l9 C+ [+ d: L' a-        Programming planned enhancements;
5 D. {2 w* _' i1 ?-        Testing system changes;
-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
+ c1 H) }- k, H8 R6 k1 q-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
  q* W8 T5 _9 s# c-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
/ y- s& s$ i* Y3 \7 G-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

# M: T# s+ d% b% ~: m3 Q3 d# h(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies

2 K8 i- S4 I% T# `(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

3 Q9 v6 y! k; ?(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

8 }& U5 g. v1 O' E7 E(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

B. Desirable Requirements
, [3 A0 `- d' P  u8 o! P! w(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
) z  e9 p( Q: q) H8 k- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit

- Pdflib
1 t2 W: q! Y" C. G6 ^3 b* E- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

) i& `+ U& l3 G! E' }: N0 s(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
6 I, M9 D2 Y4 h/ R4 @6 L6 e- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
