In general, key aspects of the role are:
4 N3 n- ^: m$ g! v$ n-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
+ n$ u2 e) P# M. C0 ]3 |! n-        Participate in peer reviews;
  k. G5 `! b  B4 p/ m) e-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
# d2 B  Q* q  S: D/ l-        Programming planned enhancements;
9 C! X0 S/ `* M3 S7 r-        Testing system changes;
1 m* `8 L) o3 }; {4 d# V-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
' I: \4 H$ ^- a) B8 F" f! q5 a-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
3 n9 n2 H7 W4 e" Q; Z- F-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
0 o3 c. O  P# c! m' [* w" ?-        Lead short term projects;
4 y* L5 A* n( Y3 k  _  S4 `2 M% v# n-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
: `5 y& W' o- Y6 U' z1 }% Neffective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
% u- `' T! u+ M  {for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)
9 O; x1 }/ f$ Q9 \& B2 C( L% x
(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

7 m- m+ ?1 X, d& r, _(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

. F* V1 U  J4 E$ O0 |5 g: n(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
# Z& ^. t3 K6 ~- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit
' M# H3 v1 x, a5 x$ U% F$ P, w- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib

(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
4 U  t* n5 O3 ?  O. j# {- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
