Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

1 f/ h7 X1 N; M- u4 o7 h) t8 t/ H7 h! aWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
# q h4 G9 i+ O3 f• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person+ B: |9 b R/ V( P
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST4 t" D7 C- H7 c) Z% E! Y J4 _3 l
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
/ i, r. O0 ^" k0 w+ }+ w" o• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
4 k& q: d$ F. v8 V/ u9 ]; \• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents9 N/ E S Z1 g; p9 z w$ ]6 ?3 E
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker/ y5 c: X1 B5 ]
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events

• Keep the reception area tidy and clean

• Maintain front counter service files, r: O$ J1 E/ C7 J8 c% o7 ~
• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:4 o5 M& u! p2 s5 J" ?
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person2 M1 \$ J' T) H" M1 m2 g
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
5 }0 W- L9 a6 ~1 }8 s8 r: {" v* `• Good English writing and oral communication skills
3 C5 t% ^% M1 N1 P; h6 ?• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
d! m+ F1 W/ _* V• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook: m- i% v0 j5 G O B3 w {/ l2 U
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately " C* ^" v' S* b' n4 Q$ Y' ^# V
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds/ K: x5 ~+ u) ]% ^/ J b
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment8 K2 C9 d6 A# a
• Knowledge of immigrant services" _+ ^" Y9 u# x4 T: u

5 D6 _; r$ R" \, u2 E' `" A+ ~, @2 M9 N• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
2 Z: o- H* S, }( S; t* M; F, K1 _• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment& P" I% ^6 p7 F1 @2 U" [. j3 j
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism( C e5 h) A' [# \! e3 u
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
