Position Summary:
+ O7 G4 ^1 q' n' N* `8 lWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
" [9 Q/ ]- t7 {+ \• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
. a) Z3 U/ j2 [* I: `• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
' W$ g6 L% v% Q7 A+ S• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter5 {: E6 `3 s2 n# T
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
. Q. f7 o! A# u" a8 d! I4 b- m& @• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker4 N$ F2 J9 S9 [
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events& ?% z) e1 f$ o# Q- e
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events+ ]) g, ~, D0 y1 ?
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
7 v! C' a) n0 J# w% h• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned

2 U- f4 o/ [6 K; F; |) V- wKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: |% {/ r: j0 t; I+ P* l
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
& p; ?2 ^- ?, u* o6 d2 X" b" H• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset/ Q9 P# ? q# F+ x; H/ r
• Good English writing and oral communication skills- j5 Y3 J5 l+ n0 H1 Y
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients) l( D/ F4 F% G% J- s% D- W+ ?
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook3 S& U( z$ g: x0 }9 O2 o5 O# k: a
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 4 ]! F* n1 p) V3 ^3 i& k
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds1 I9 T# q9 u1 j/ U( B
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

4 ]' s2 s) ?) _$ N• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience

• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
