Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary:
7 A. z, N. a5 Z" MWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

3 ?- k2 S( S1 y4 r9 \3 @ L& E; k• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
; s0 k8 }) C4 Z' O( N• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
, Y# @& F- i% N+ f• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
" i+ Y7 x: I q( y" d( e• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
& r6 }& h; ~* |, u" H: [2 _; v• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents' }" s" K! h1 A2 @0 e, R6 _% `
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
; b- r0 v- p, m• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
+ {7 e, S7 h$ b: V) k" E• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
( X- f7 [# Z' |/ ?2 s/ [; l• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
+ o7 K: W2 o( c4 ~7 d# J+ z! g• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters& E9 p, g }/ B! c
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
# w2 i$ n% ^+ B7 c" D9 y1 ^ F4 [• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
9 a6 j. h$ I% r# y. N- t) ]1 }• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
. c3 g2 _- O. H1 B+ r• Good English writing and oral communication skills0 P/ R% Q& Z0 b. Y
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
- S. @1 M3 y; Z" F• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook( H7 p9 O2 \1 I( l
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately & O q( q9 m& D p
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds8 ^* D, \' m% ?& ?& R
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:# d# x# @$ p( K
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
5 w) A- @2 V/ w5 c- y( }5 H• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
/ Q2 m' Y' U3 ?% v6 `• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism$ x9 @. s% P7 B
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision) M8 b( z% x. g' o5 j3 L+ y% V
