Key Responsibilities

- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
! Z" |# ?0 y, V( a5 e$ a- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
: O( Z- Y1 d$ N- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties& n/ F& ?) W* ~- @" x- j" i
- provide volunteers for various programs + y( C; _' A/ A* Q3 p) k+ G+ [. I3 z$ |
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
2 ]5 f" f9 B B* w; \- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation5 h$ ]+ K& A9 J% j$ ?
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities% A9 G9 B0 \6 x! Q
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services ?; g7 e* K- h8 P: ^8 x# y
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
4 e! T+ F4 c1 ^9 ?6 X; G- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required): d+ `$ j) L# b+ Z: _
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events , A' O0 \9 N* V9 ^7 ?8 M5 C% v# t
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
8 R& P- ^7 V: \1 j1 X- d' b9 Y- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
% i4 h( u+ l7 w9 @- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
$ I9 W( o2 v j2 P- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis # d, y2 K& o q- Z( ?

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications) q* W8 I, Y% f& l! K% l5 N5 l
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
1 x! l# \; A0 K+ d7 W' J. T0 m9 J2 F- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
9 G* i2 R7 O2 C( V$ l' |5 \$ s- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
9 m! p. m' d6 V" H- leadership skills
9 N4 _( j/ k3 s/ I: A- management and supervision skills
+ `, y) h( q4 s* A- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
