Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- provide volunteers to update membership database
. i1 k) P: i" C) u3 o/ T- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers6 S' J3 }$ [. P' C" X
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties! Q8 P) Y- R, V$ y# m
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
+ M& N# g O+ n3 Y c; O- provide volunteers for various programs
; ?2 l+ B; ]8 u- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual- M; m. l/ x7 E& _- q4 U
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
5 f4 S" T, I3 G- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities! P5 ]% U( r2 C
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
6 B( o& ?" m$ `9 M& N- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
/ w% f& Y, m3 v( [+ S. G; `- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed8 ~: }* C$ P1 f7 r% T) {
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed. W2 J2 t7 w& k% U* i+ E
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)0 F. F+ U! R* Y$ o
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % F; C7 `0 l* B* ?; _0 @ [
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
# E( G6 |& [& C1 Y/ \* }- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
7 G* U& D; n8 |- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers / W0 F8 I* s' A9 }" u
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
: x+ O: @5 n5 K- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
' a5 \, |3 ]. e! R- good oral and written Chinese and English skills! r/ t3 S* A/ Q% m3 y8 h
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
' C6 t/ c* O; X( a4 l+ w- leadership skills
% d$ h; z: F" U* E$ C q- management and supervision skills
0 Q$ N" n) g6 `$ b/ K- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
; ^' D- C$ t. z2 v" S/ f
