- provide volunteers to update membership database
H# J) T& X/ J# f8 u- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
1 {4 B7 @6 V( W0 O# N+ p1 }- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
5 c1 X# `, S; o6 q& v- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
* B& w' j$ \% ^* `% @0 B8 B- provide volunteers for various programs * H6 K! h& a/ C, A: u A7 F/ X; O
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual7 t* ^1 c+ r4 a: `7 E1 g
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation( I5 E% p" S0 ~% ]) s
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
$ J8 o3 {$ c4 m% x7 l- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services6 d' H. r9 `. g e
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports9 l5 R9 n# r% i
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed& {: P S( m0 f0 ?
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed" N! [0 }; G( N( Y' Z t1 |
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)- H2 Z1 j5 M9 f9 A+ l; O
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 0 c Z0 h+ S" b9 K
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 0 Q' o( Z; i# b
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers : Y& l: V* d" o. N! j! S
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
9 f* e5 t2 ~: b1 `# t4 a0 x. U- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 8 z9 z d4 ~, _6 w1 P
- evaluations
9 D( V; k! b2 \# O- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre, ~# g' m2 S) ~. I" f$ u5 B9 T3 z
) t9 s( c+ O, sQualifications
% Y# e7 l% P% F3 N* |0 N$ F- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education6 ]- B( }% B! @9 C, j9 r
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" z$ I! h( B1 k% Y$ o H5 b8 j- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
) H+ b5 l/ h& l- b- leadership skills
* o- J- e( e) K$ M5 X' k. a0 L5 D$ r- management and supervision skills5 z9 J" F ?& [* Z* f# q
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
