Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database6 M x9 F! }' V, T" n
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
6 i- e0 N+ g+ A1 l8 K% |2 K- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties( }, a8 V* ^5 Z
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties/ k8 p4 L- s' ]9 h# I' O( `
- provide volunteers for various programs
p7 `1 ^6 J4 ^; m1 Q+ n# g- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual2 {2 f( \3 U4 n9 A) @
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation; Q8 h/ }, j8 r/ X* s z
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities8 C) ]1 v9 k4 g; T
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services4 t) Z: S& }0 m$ O0 u% Z( n6 n% \* Z
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports9 O- m g- g2 h) a& n: n& f
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed4 Z0 Z0 ?& F+ N
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
- w5 A6 E! l1 {1 J3 X( ?- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# {1 c6 w$ G2 K7 Q# n
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
+ ~' d4 r6 V# J. ]5 B& P4 }- development and distribution of a volunteer manual , k( g, f+ \. V( e$ c0 l
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ' b: B" n4 H% B0 u
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
5 @$ B) o ~& c4 [6 z- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis # _# d+ m2 i) d: Q* A: L
- evaluations

Qualifications" K( |# V9 \) K8 M ]" |! ]5 ^, j
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
: O6 G. |% ]+ K! E0 J9 I8 K- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" c6 W9 }, Q0 h9 A. I; w
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
