Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news : S! \* Y0 C" T0 R0 ~
- provide volunteers to update membership database: |1 x. G' F+ y) w6 d
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
. @9 b# Q! D! q- N1 K9 P- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties" f6 ~' j3 C+ S8 l" n7 ~" X
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
( f1 y3 l5 X, l) K2 ?- provide volunteers for various programs " t/ Z$ S Q- V9 M
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual4 ]1 l; e! G+ Q9 h
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
, I' \& z( }0 l6 I- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities$ }4 q4 z& x5 @- G2 Q6 D& L( D
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
' U! u, T! ~, Q/ G- {$ C# h- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
J' b! I" n2 x- U+ Q; b0 p' _- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed: w* J+ o7 S. R H* y
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
# }2 g4 V# c- m1 y4 o! \- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
+ V- E! G- k; n5 E* A- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
$ g* Y8 S8 I# K7 ]; l- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
( ?) y/ X* b0 M2 ?- W2 J) z, A/ d- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers

- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis - C6 g9 T4 d$ n, h6 K! v

$ W( e/ K/ r9 `+ f) i- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education9 X: j' I+ K q% \
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
8 m! N) Z) }; r, B- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
0 p% v( d# c0 U w: ]: v- leadership skills
! E' Q5 f! ?3 L9 l- management and supervision skills0 o0 |+ ~8 G/ Q' _" C" g! q
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
