To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ( C: x1 m5 d% S) X
% @# n" x- h% N ` r1 |+ MThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
3 S! Z. n7 P6 d9 c• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
+ D1 Z& O5 }0 E1 O• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
5 k( u- s9 @! P- f• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;5 Q+ w- e- R# l& z6 D* i
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 9 {7 T/ |. A8 t5 D, a8 Q# k
• Risk Management and succession planning;3 ?& ], S8 F) Z8 G7 q3 g+ q
% R& E5 L- b/ RProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: ' Y: b) o1 b! j9 T* L
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
: s: O c& N5 ?( b• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
' i, f( x$ t% }* \; _• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
. L# Y4 f6 H( L8 w9 \7 I• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
: C8 k7 A. O1 ^$ k; x7 A• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;/ ?& `1 G1 k2 }+ v l3 z3 C: V9 _
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
# h; Q( S8 i. f, r. \6 b$ }• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;. `; n, M& F3 |, `/ S) o" P
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:3 F- E4 |! V% C9 |" H
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
. w; ^+ N* n J8 V• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' M2 V( n2 t+ f8 A% y, j1 w: L• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
! }* e" e% f7 e% N) K6 H0 Z9 r% n• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
3 S1 q/ V3 B! w0 e, `) E% u$ q5 F• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
6 I3 q% c, s/ R h• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
6 H4 D8 ^6 @& r• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
/ p( C: a5 J# L" F G% G0 V' y• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
* ]+ N% c! l4 v- }0 z. ?• Current valid drivers license;& [4 o! j( U4 S. [+ ?. V: N. O' c, d
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;8 x2 l- ` z% D+ t
• Conflict resolution skills;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
