To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

! o3 |6 v! [. U( lThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding). i q; n9 {+ C# i9 u# X5 R2 X

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:& V, O3 M n6 q# F8 N9 c
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
8 W1 u( |& v1 |: G; ?: P |• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;' j0 L" [( ^& P4 I0 N. X O
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: . r7 _5 {% N; a, t: W/ O
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;' p4 ~+ b$ `4 i3 x
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
- |6 ~. f& A* x8 c• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
) Y1 x+ u4 E( B• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
7 L3 |6 V/ G) m/ f) v" y, d• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;8 T9 H9 \5 S2 ?2 t3 B1 P2 g( Q7 X
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
4 ?8 j" ?. N' O% `5 P- t• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:8 B0 ]$ q4 E' a& N* X
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
! Q: c6 A) R. h- R. R4 v& j' @# |• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
3 Z% @8 I0 {2 V. S) M. u2 \7 K• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 6 ~% d8 }3 H- o$ ]2 e9 x
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;2 V; _2 `& v$ J
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.3 w; ?( y6 y, U7 ]
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
5 f: f" c, u& m4 I/ U; U( o# D+ D• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred; w5 t/ \6 n* C
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
2 J( y, `$ o/ m) \1 ~2 \• Current valid drivers license;
5 J" B1 z/ s6 m. `- ~• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
