8 X3 i; ^8 H( D# J4 c* OTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 4 Z9 B. n6 R& l. I
1 E: i, y8 C$ vThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

" N) m' h; U' @/ d" U JAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
! Q" N* l* w4 g! h# C• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
/ q( z, ?& S( v3 E5 Z9 }• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;0 _! x2 o$ G7 C# W, x+ U
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;7 _( U4 R! |5 b0 B" l7 t' F
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ) }0 v! x6 D' S) j
• Risk Management and succession planning;

" n# C& B8 d; y" }) ?Program Duties and Responsibilities include: ( b& G' H; W/ t% M+ w. j
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
7 f% @" _& C, m2 O& o• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
3 y9 Q6 K( I& W3 E- t+ g2 ?• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;, G6 t) Q) V4 i2 e- l
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
6 E4 `; U9 G; N5 Y' i5 v• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
' X" k5 \% I8 d7 K• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;. T3 B/ l3 n& |: g9 V
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
! H$ \; w/ T* a7 s• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;" h. o) E1 d+ V
1 m |7 ?/ y/ q) d1 o& t3 DQualifications:
, V( F+ @6 ?& p4 f: w$ m• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
2 \& V. R. z' Z5 v3 d• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;. q2 T: F/ N9 r; Q
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
. i* S4 `1 W5 g+ Z8 @2 w. c m9 |• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
( l! E" k$ Z: o• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
2 |1 f9 ~ |' @/ F' A• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
, r; u8 Q5 s) t1 | b7 x$ d- d• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;1 a' h2 a) C. i# k- h
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;1 p( c: ~7 i7 c3 K
• Current valid drivers license;; D# ]/ p3 u( H2 f: j& ]) \
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
& |( L7 Q+ z! X* \' i• Conflict resolution skills;4 p( I. h p$ q o( P) j
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
