Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
% M) n; }: S, @) l/ d. q* BTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)0 c7 ~& e9 G' [$ G7 s
. z y3 y3 a" i+ u2 BAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
( s3 V% d. u; P$ ~+ _2 N/ G• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
) B6 h7 ~3 x! N- q$ P- R• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
8 Y2 v5 b! L# Q/ b' c% B( b' S• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
; n; E) E) z8 ]2 Q7 z+ a! S* l• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; # l* D* N& M8 r8 Y3 M

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 6 h1 f1 H2 B- C
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
, ^/ m7 H" U5 j: [: e% Z• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
8 c1 j6 X' A! r% \1 t$ b l( b/ U/ P4 x% A• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;! ?2 G" y1 Y! B* U; \
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
# G1 Y( ^ N- z, A• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;$ k- S" W A, {) J
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
I/ {$ ^- r: f' S3 Y8 m• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;' U0 ]; X( O* v7 v/ s0 u' @3 q
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;: K! E- B9 F# J( |& {/ M" `* v

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
4 N5 e6 r$ { O/ Y& A• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;$ t( k" H, c0 k; l8 R
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
* `5 A6 v4 ^) I; Y• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
( e( I5 n/ \8 a' ]• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
# n5 D* U+ c3 S; m: D" T% u• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;5 L5 w7 C6 w# Q- \, |% k, t
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;0 k$ E, \3 Q( d2 u$ W' }/ C5 Z; b
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;2 j1 i7 i W" Q5 l: O( y
• Current valid drivers license;5 M( t7 X4 T$ `. F1 _
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
9 M$ G) n. h. ] R8 n# S• Conflict resolution skills;8 e, M! e3 f1 @* w; o
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;, w% \6 n8 Z* j
• Committed and passionate about children;7 s& S+ c( |: d& }3 K

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
