Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

4 w! U' P- a0 [8 i•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities

5 S4 b$ Q, P- }" F9 k•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs

" m$ n* X: H: u2 a/ U% f: D. W•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required

•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

7 ^9 @, ^5 ]1 B: _2 v& p: k4 M•        Comfortable working in an environment involving significant risk exposure to the Bank.

/ U' K2 }' ]0 _6 X•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.

•        have the equivalent of a Canadian bachelor’s degree and a completed education credential assessment
•        have at least 3 years of international work experience in their field

•        are legally able to work in Canada
