Reports to: Foreman, Project Supervisor, Project Manager

Location: Various project sites in BC and SK

Duration: Depends on duration of the project

Compensation: $37.00/h in BC, $34.50/h in SK

Responsibilities and Tasks

0 Y; }5 T# F& h' F* F( B$ g
-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
6 T# O) S; D4 e# H8 L8 k* Z-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
! d, a' [2 {# ?" t-        Select type and size of pipe required
& v! t6 C/ F/ t-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

Required Qualifications

( Y7 I% q  E! E5 y# X: }-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
: q+ o; w" |3 i1 M1 M) h1 O: K-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset

Required Qualifications
-        Completion of secondary school

-        A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an industrial Electrician
-        Trade certification in Saskatchewan or Interprovincial Red Seal
