If you answered “No” to all the other questions but think you can speak and understand French or English well enough to apply for citizenship, you should take a third party language test approved by CIC. Submit the results with your application.

•CELPIP-General test: you need a score of 2H or higher (3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5 or 6) in speaking and listening; OR) r2 y/ |9 @- t- e1 @, g
•CELPIP-General LS (a two-skills, listening and speaking version of the CELPIP-General test): you need a score of 2H or higher (3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5 or 6) in listening and speaking; OR
& ?8 K/ p2 K" k•IELTS General training test: you need a score of 4.0 or higher in speaking, and 4.5 or higher in listening; OR
7 V) j, J3 f7 m•TEF test: you need a score of B1 or higher (B2, C1 or C2) in listening and speaking; OR
9 e; e. w$ z7 \- B w, P5 G•TEFAQ or TEF épreuves orales: both are two-skills (listening and speaking) versions of the TEF. You need a score of B1 or higher (B2, C1 or C2).
