Position Title: Community Development Worker
Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week
+ Q$ j# Y* K8 E' ?! J: |$ dKey Responsibilities
. S! Z( d" ?- j-community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
; Y4 s+ z+ m0 [. \0 Q-workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
# F2 @# k% C; p1 W. v3 ?* q-fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
. d& F" t! m* K5 F! Y-develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
! l2 u7 }3 N( |-coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.
-participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
-demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
2 J+ a5 }) {9 }5 X-write quarterly and final reports for ISP
- G6 I3 \/ O" d" I$ o; k; v3 R-assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
/ b' j  a$ z: e-update membership database
( ~+ i! _6 E: a$ Z! j! C/ a-work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
-report to ISP team leader

8 M5 r/ P: o3 ^! r+ QQualifications
$ t7 W% P5 j: i/ c-degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
-good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-experience in community work and immigrant services
