Position Title: Community Development Worker
Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
-community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
-workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
; `( X! g1 ^% `+ s-fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
& ^; [, O3 `& @- j$ J# w-develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
& m( a3 z9 a6 w. S6 p1 z) O6 d- V-assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.
-participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
+ s* A; C) B6 y! d! Y$ I* L. {-demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
3 U& y3 l& ~/ @-participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 k3 a8 q8 ^( k# _/ F& H/ a-write quarterly and final reports for ISP
-assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
4 c/ `" N0 n6 P. o-update membership database
; F) p  S8 Z% e$ m" x# T8 W-work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
7 C, M  U# i, S( }: K' `-report to ISP team leader

5 k* u: Y2 o$ m-degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
-good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* K+ d8 Z9 K! ^- c- ^* t-experience in community work and immigrant services
