No one was injured after a brush fire tore through a section of Edmonton's river valley on Friday night.
& x- F( `! i9 b, N( KThe fire started around 11 p.m. near the Wolf Willow and Rio Terrace neighbourhoods in the west end of the city.
7 t/ D) l+ k R% B9 W1 s2 tEdmonton Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sarah Meffen said 17 fire trucks were called to fight the fire. It was declared under control at 1:20 a.m., and was officially out at 3:20 a.m., @: k* w7 D. v3 ]9 e5 y
The fire covered a large area of the ravine, Meffen said, but none of the nearby homes were evacuated.
