Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me: ) L/ b0 ^, v+ ?% L3 x9 [
"I am going to send it back". ; x; T4 b% U& i& f7 _. I% z) b
I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:. a. k" N2 @! E4 c6 u
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?" 2 L, C( d; x" n; B
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." 1 l- H. i) _7 w
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" 6 u5 H! X, K6 p9 M! I' B
"Yes, I did."9 h E( T- U8 r/ h% ? V; C
Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
; e. f2 s. n: \' e8 IHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet.

"No, I am not. I do not do those things."

My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it.
