0 O" B$ x* h$ k0 Q( m) H( I! ^Police Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.1 f0 T0 _3 ^' I
McIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.5 w. K$ Q; j# b! B2 j
Six-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.) E* z% I q8 Z5 g0 I5 u
Chang died of her injuries. Her mother is recovering in hospital.
