EDMONTON -- Alberta's chief medical officer of health revealed who is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in the next phase of vaccinations as Phase 2A began on Monday.+ @1 _$ d G! t2 w* ^

With Phase 2B slated to begin in April, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said Albertans with high-risk underlying health conditions would be able to get the COVID-19 shot.! ^8 E5 D5 ?: o

Chronic heart, kidney, liver, neurological and respiratory diseases;

Diabetes that requires insulin or other medicines;# e8 o! q8 `- @7 X5 M3 A
Immunosuppression;
: v* [4 z4 \$ D& Y" e0 v! D% c Pregnancy;$ g/ k' N! R3 S2 P
Severe mental illness or substance abuse disorder that required hospitalization in the past year;
& Z6 k) k, ]( l& W; Q3 l Severe obesity;
2 `( K6 y; O( W Severe learning disabilities or severe developmental delay; and
3 R+ e. R# }2 m! f$ p Solid organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplant recipients.
