Job description
/ \+ n1 a7 s0 r: l# h7 L2 kStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
1 s9 p0 k+ p0 }2 d1 T3 X0 eweekend hours.
8 e/ A! s6 {5 b0 n3 }- \9 \4 rYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
7 d+ R _' }& ~+ Q5 elab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the$ j- _2 `" I' m, m" n7 f
centre.
. Z4 e# d1 ]. EThese responsibilities include:1 j8 M8 s" N& R- j" N1 u0 E; P
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
9 j& X2 z R7 m, C" `* L-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
. b! l6 g- q9 d- y-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and* Q' x. ]8 v) f( g8 f. u
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 9 d0 N* {4 k9 c, x% P
facilities’ maintenance, etc. 5 G$ F6 p* H& |
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 1 D4 u1 L# M H
clients’ files etc. 1 k6 k7 I0 K2 Q/ r$ v& q4 C$ v
Statement of Qualifications

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
; i+ }& w1 E0 o6 ^/ q* F: k+ ^education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination . K* U. d# q+ ~+ k) _( [/ T+ M
of education, training and /or experience.
4 B! j. [; ]/ z) kKnowledge/Technical competencies:2 m- ]2 u4 M6 O
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.$ O1 X/ L! y2 Z
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
- x" d, w# y0 a& {. W+ I- Xand Excel.
: m5 o. `9 A9 f6 l7 g/ B-Experience using and updating an information database.
% @4 e5 ~9 J. q7 E* @+ T+ L& z
0 p7 y/ ]; q) z) ^" HAssets:2 f9 E- b6 ]/ G0 d; @5 K
-Experience in using MS Access.
* r# P7 S* F7 Y-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
5 U+ I$ l: o3 `-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.. T% D% V$ A V& ]) z j
-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
