Job Summary:
4 D* Z0 h9 C: Y( ~' Y# sThe Non-ferrous laborer must be able to properly identify and sort non-ferrous metals. Applies knowledge of non-ferrous metals to properly identify materials when interacting with customers. Prepares non-ferrous materials for transport. Both indoor and outdoor, fast-paced setting.

Job Responsibilities:' j3 L! \- p$ K
4 m; a/ g/ Q' w( h6 E# O# s. u DMust be able to sort, process, grade non-ferrous materials
+ {+ f; c& @0 s% y0 bInspects material for hazardous waste and grades different types of non-ferrous materials4 q8 F& h$ O$ T- `- Z
Loads and unloads non-ferrous material; d/ w& l; J; g+ w
Must be able to work safely at all times7 S* E \5 h4 ]) L
Be able to effectively perform tasks independently
/ _; i6 q* r( z5 H8 WPerforms routine housekeeping.
; h5 X! ?9 B3 t2 F# N- NObserves and reports any safety issues- N0 y1 p# ]) R& ^% I$ j3 m

Understand and be able to grade all non-ferrous material properly
, D( \8 a( c0 \- n! B. g. D; @Metal recycling industry experience is an asset
% ]. J* q( ]1 [: h' A; Y/ xExperience stripping equipment and/or with manual material sorting
& s: W8 j% x1 L- C; V( i1 HKnowledge of non-ferrous processing: Y2 b8 j5 D7 _* t5 E
High school diploma (Or GED)/ w5 C! P4 k' k( ]& S6 X6 {
Well-articulated and assertive( s$ K( L% x5 D! ^( Q9 F* k
Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, maintenance personnel and other employees of the organization4 V6 o: J2 K" U
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

Mechanically inclined an asset
