- s% |/ r! n9 \6 g) \, n5 `6 ]0 DThe Transportation Department offers a challenging opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer to administer, coordinate, and undertake transportation infrastructure projects. Working with a team of technologists and consultants, specific responsibilities include;1 Y8 i/ h5 T, g" l5 l" ], |) v. a7 `
9 h# `! X+ j1 w. @' V
• Designing transportation infrastructure projects including roadways, interchanges, walkways, and bridge rehabilitation.
9 I/ ~' ~6 P/ f$ o& x8 m• Coordinating the design of multi-disciplinary roadway projects with various stakeholders including other City Departments, environmental agencies, utility owners, design consultants, and other outside organizations.
$ a, Q9 p$ I; j5 |1 C- k6 v• Administering land acquisition, railway crossing improvements, and pipeline related issues.

• Researching, updating and developing roadway procedures and standards, C, W, k# [; s0 J5 o! T
• Generating accurate cost estimates for a variety of transportation projects# Y/ \* T2 b4 T" Q: f
• Organizing and attending public meetings regarding transportation projects/ `: P* T9 i4 K( z, P1 G) a

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
/ ]- Y, J3 P7 t6 n/ b4 f- L• International Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with coursework in transportation engineering or geometric design
! b# R7 {8 m: W X# x; ~) n• Minimum of 4 years progressively responsible engineering experience
4 r3 `4 V. f; v+ C% I( ]. A• Working towards APEGGA licensure4 p' l% m9 c5 G% ^
• Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment overall score of 7)
9 e2 p. _% f1 o$ ^• Proven project management, presentation, and negotiation skills$ ]: m5 ~9 O0 Q3 h* _
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications ! ], R, R0 F$ q& W
• Knowledge of CADD including Microstation is an asset' o/ ?! t4 I- T
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence6 r) F+ R, ]6 t7 T1 s. [' D- w

HOURS OF WORK:

SALARY RANGE:
9 ^. T) u! f# q% f) s1 c ~+ M91M, Salary Grade: 109, $52,232.22 - $74,616.36 (Annually).
