Drainage Services, Asset Management & Public Works+ ^" V3 ~. x% V/ F; v1 ~- F
• Construction of sewer lines, catch basins, access and drop manholes, watermains, feedmains, hydrants, ditches, water appurtenances, concrete structures such as storm outlets.- e. J, ^4 k( y6 X
• Digging holes and trenches by hand, excavation activities on major open cut projects ensuring placement of shoring, timbers, and struts; cutting, grinding levelling, jointing and laying of pipe.% J6 ^, t5 H) x. ]9 M
• Repairing sewer services, main lines and pumping stations; cleaning sewer and drainage systems by low pressure flushing; assisting drainage servicemen in inspecting, rodding and televising sewer services; repairing manholes and catchbasins; assisting equipment operators in performing high pressure flushing and vaccuum cleaning activities.

; G! A6 Z; D7 |" X, e• Maintenance of parks: mowing, herbiciding and sanitation of turf, shrub and flower bed maintenance, marking & maintaining sports fields, playground inspections and servicing.
; c8 ?' m3 P! \• Construction of parks: manual labour using hand tools such as shovels, rakes and stake pounders.- ^& q3 h1 e: R8 d
• Park service and trail maintenance: including sanitation of picnic sites, amenity buildings, repair of signs, roadways, trail surfaces, irrigation & homeless camps.
- ~* g& C6 P% Y& @+ M6 K- q• Forestry operations including various arboriculture tasks- assist in the development and maintenance of the urban forest.

• Performing structural concrete/steel duties on bridge maintenance (must be able to work heights).

• Working in traffic during street construction/maintenance projects.1 E) j* t6 m( I" ^4 A7 G
• Installation, maintenance and removal of road markings, traffic / detour control devices.

• Operating and performing minor maintenance with equipment such as: small hand tools, push lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers, small rototillers, and chain saws.

• Loading and unloading materials from trucks.

• Completion of the eighth school grade or equivalent. Must be indicated on application/resume.
+ `3 c0 K0 J# g. g6 h! D7 X1 L• Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Must be indicated on application/resume.% I- }! X- v4 h3 [1 b
• Applicants may be tested, and where required to operate a City vehicle, must attain a City of Edmonton driving permit upon appointment.
6 W! F* O7 S5 k. H1 r• Physically capable of performing heavy labour work for extended periods of time under various weather and traffic conditions.
+ f, V. j9 T# }+ X7 I7 j, m- {• Manual dexterity to operate simple hand and/or power tools and small equipment.

HOURS OF WORK: Up to 40 hours per week. Hours of work will vary with each position. These positions may be subject to shift work, providing coverage 7 days per week. Please indicate if you’re interested in shift work.
