SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

1 w1 h6 {, u3 ~( L$ cJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
  W9 |* `1 _- q% pBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
: Y3 J2 C0 [' b) Tcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.


) S2 y* o- P8 P4 G; ?7 o/ B8 WDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
# W" J) g0 L& \, F% h  z$ g  M
2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
: _; ]* W. x* T6 j' Y* whigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

% _* G- I: m: i  Q# T7 {/ r3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
: v4 _7 u& U6 i# \including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

( D8 H: h4 x4 R3 H5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
$ |1 X1 @4 T! G  H3 I+ m4 {" @5 Daction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
7 M  ?# j+ ^/ t) `1 }7 Ointervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

4 x% X/ y& b7 u7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
  |; R8 t2 l* F" W7 E  uManager.


5 _% `: W5 z" `$ |QUALIFICATIONS;
/ {+ q3 J% N; T' w1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

* c6 r# }, l! N2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
6 M, @7 r1 w7 w6 W6 x5 y1 C7 Doperation.

& [2 d9 g9 }7 R$ F$ _3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

3 i6 ^3 V4 i  x4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
% o! @; G6 U* y4 h6 z' ccard transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
7 A5 x% R3 o% Qprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

; S4 a% G# C5 t& M$ VWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
