11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
, _9 F/ j  V$ D! d1 jBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
8 x4 i/ X$ E1 fcustomer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
9 s" J2 X0 v: ^$ m$ ~1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
0 ]! d3 a$ H2 \7 ]accordance with Students' Union policies.
+ c3 c' v, m$ ~+ h9 [9 M* i
3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
3 s8 h- P7 Y' ?3 ?! T( p6 T; A# vincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

, Z8 u# g7 b6 `% o5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
4 h0 O4 P; b/ j5 p1 f* {/ naction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
; x8 q/ p% g( b6 ?: o2 HAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

: m  d) i+ Q' ], a! R, E8 h# {% p7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations

% i5 A( m6 b) [- C$ O2 TQUALIFICATIONS;
; I# W$ j& ~  \/ w6 f1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
/ e7 E/ f3 L; o% e% G$ m: ?. H$ I
6 v1 o" p% k; p5 i  M2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
# i  w7 G) S6 V2 ]! }operation.

/ N3 V* H8 _  _4 W3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

+ r5 D* D, H# l4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
3 x6 E# @4 ~1 }  L# Bcard transactions.

  _! |+ P3 ]% j( O& E5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
