through Friday

( @' Z$ R( d* Y% rJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
' f' R$ @: c6 r5 c% v0 A5 Z4 |procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
0 A) i' P+ M. S8 D8 Ucleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
0 M9 s: I- c9 o; |4 Wbeverage items.

6 d& o: A6 M; H3 n; _9 [2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.

3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
+ R" ^1 Y" M+ d' r: U7 f. Beach shift, and upon closing.

4 p0 W4 o+ b) m. |& l2 c4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
% l. a+ j  U8 s# q0 eseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

/ C$ E2 X$ T  K% a- S' W5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
) D- a# I1 E2 b0 C5 E6 Y- r4 _storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
7 G2 a! }( g" Y9 b" Uproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
0 f& d( X2 m4 n  d7 l) `- zmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
! t; f* D5 R0 N2 }) F( hhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
  M& Z! B. ?8 `accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
6 _9 M' ^) X6 J5 }( ]; Yhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
7 p: g- O, p5 ~% I5 B+ M& m To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

, A8 Y. \5 H3 qQUALIFICATIONS:
) ]( H3 m. g! j' i2 v1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
( {( ~; O4 P  m5 _operation.

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
accordance with Students' Union policy.

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

4 [( ~7 y. m5 N8 _# p5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.

Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
