ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Community Initiatives Documenter
" e( E* z9 s2 @' T6 G- o# iThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

  s  B" T$ V4 g' YEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

1 }, a0 m& V9 }8 ^2 }0 WQualifications:
1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
  ?. Q3 e9 }: l- R9 ?7 `3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
% ^! F0 u$ k# X1 n! W, [0 T9 O4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
