) N. ~- L. |# W3 t' b* i' TPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
7 }, c N% h) `8 v" |5 U% ~and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
, O2 P* l( d- i$ s U0 s8 Anon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED
2 y1 j' {8 T* N- I" [$ dworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
( d; h; [! p8 w- O$ k) Ypolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's0 ]5 \0 ]& Z( \4 i& V. B1 L
affairs at all times.3 D9 A5 ^ j( o
: o! W* R g* MPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a! C- r! G( ^& G
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative4 q o2 F& B1 K: X: X7 ~
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,; h( `7 Y9 F7 a$ r
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports0 W- [! M$ D" [/ \% k3 g- |+ `
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
8 i9 p% W, @, v) t7 {to implement the organizational policies.; F. Z# j! J7 d) Z, D' N
2 I* ?/ [( W# g/ _# d/ iPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded2 Q0 H' D: ?/ f

services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have) g' e4 V$ f; z6 g
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the

the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure. f; k/ r9 M- d8 i" J3 K$ {) I! F
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
; @7 Y( {, G" I5 |payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of

including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government3 b# K6 R+ Q2 f
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of* r ]4 W7 f, H/ P8 J5 p7 H
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
- y6 W- t7 K2 W" K4 C. wwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
5 ]) u+ S# x4 Q2 X* m5 k0 zmanaging projects and budgets.6 d- w3 g1 K$ h ?
