organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
8 T- Q) u# Q$ |. X4 pand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
" T" g9 x, D. y; V, k. k+ Z) Yvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
7 o3 U/ {5 j! _  marrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
! Q! c( H! ]1 B; ?* ?to implement the organizational policies.
$ G3 T. q1 J5 Z1 a" g
PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
& K! v! U9 U% B& k+ {! Oas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
6 m% [' a! G. Jthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

8 I4 w  |' ^5 m1 i0 lIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
; c- C- @6 p* Z  {* w: {the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
; H) |* G* B" y) gthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

: p. m: K: a: y" K; c3 A' X$ V$ G) \) eKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
8 M1 w# W; J" I( S) T) Yorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

& u- J1 R  o. f: F* u" T; H( m/ ?processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing

- f7 ]# p7 Z8 r9 \' ewith youth.
