DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:, k" q& d8 Q4 Z1 }4 D) f

1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 20006 C2 l# U7 L2 @& A

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.! v' ^0 _2 L7 i: d9 T
0 j- F" k( W* k% c& l& A/ j: |4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing
" X- E2 \; O7 T2 badequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations 2 O' U6 U/ E$ w8 d$ t/ { C
across campus, and advertising the poll locations., U0 M# n) V+ N @9 }8 W7 _; ^
% @* R w; y) c& g
5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ 6 f4 w# [# l2 d5 {2 w
referenda.6 h$ k3 A; E# r8 \0 g7 W% V
0 J+ U. t2 W5 C4 ]) e% {; k/ U6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections : K0 d: _; A9 `8 f( O+ m# e' V

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a
) c- o$ ]. j0 S4 ]0 bminimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, 3 K0 y( S# M: O, d
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day
" W3 ^# i& ^! g# m' Tof voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.9 P! T& E f. `% \: F/ O0 |3 |9 e0 R
. g, K8 M2 O2 _; L7 M' V7 o, n11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during " }! Q$ M. S& E0 {5 n/ @
the course of an election/referendum.

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting

& O& a9 Y7 j8 S" M+ g# R. h4 N13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week

15) Perform other job related duties as required by the Council : o C! g) V) H' ?8 V/ v

QUALIFICATIONS:( N7 ^( c) I% I0 h) ~) K
" `8 m/ m+ w) u/ @ o1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course
8 }. J, _3 E% g: g4 }& g8 `6 Zfor each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'
+ z6 t& p, ^5 IUnion member.. F+ t* }! l( s) r2 O0 k5 i/ a
C; a4 U3 U: O4 Z, V% T- ^& v0 [8 u2) Must have some experience in student elections.

1 E) R. M7 ?/ O! Q- o4 J4 U$ s3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
: j8 s; E7 _/ ?; z5 s7 [any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position & i m$ J, t; G2 l

5) Excellent project management skills are required.
