JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of

; U* Q4 d' E2 d+ @5 H4 f! K2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students'

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.' G5 d" I% _: s4 L- k$ E" ~- Q
6 V' d# e0 }8 [! R) q3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.% m8 P$ r# |' `9 R) p. ^, z( x
9 o6 @2 p7 E# X1 F4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing 8 R7 F( A9 i$ x5 k/ F9 s( m
adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations

5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/

7) To facilitate classroom speaking arrangements during an election/

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections

minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, - @( n4 e& q% p7 ^) w9 o
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day 2 N; s2 Y' L9 X9 ~0 O( _0 i! c
of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week

15) Perform other job related duties as required by the Council k7 p- E. R! J6 L( r

QUALIFICATIONS:

/ F1 g7 n7 v7 b! M: B5 Tfor each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'

! Y) F- H5 a. p- T- P6 ~- A- ]2) Must have some experience in student elections.

3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
2 z7 g8 ^' R& ~any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position
7 L) O6 p& k9 d2 Pwith the Students' Union.

5) Excellent project management skills are required.
