About background check

I sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

1 {' ]  {& l8 G! _"We have requested background information from other government
offices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
. P& j4 }* a& s8 Oof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
  U0 @" x, u7 ~+ d! ?the status of your application before this information is received."
* s+ U. b' T7 S/ c) R! _( h
5 [* b1 W2 W4 ?1 M; s! R% ^$ jDoes this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
