; o" h1 W% T8 a% a \After I settled down in Edmonton, I celebrated Canada Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Remembrance Day. All of them arevery interesting to me, but I have to say that the most enjoyable holiday is Halloween.
8 j8 v0 z! |$ C7 v( \2 r; @3 RMy teacher told me I should prepare candies, and many children would come to my home and ask for them. So, I bought many candies from Zellers and Safeway. When I got back home with the candies, my wife told me that there were not enough, so I went to Safeway again and bought more.

, j' a* A$ E) c$ L' U& C1 XOctober 31st is Halloween. I got up very early that day. My wife prepared chicken which I was going to bring to class for a potluck. My child was very happy because she had already been waitingfor this day for a long time.
7 P5 Z' y! k" P3 VIn the afternoon, we had a potluck in the class. Yuong Sook, a Korean girl, made some sushi which looked very beautiful. Chun Yuan, a Chinese girl, cooked some bouilli which tasted very delicious. Of course my wife cooked the best food because they were all cleared off all gone.. q$ z5 t3 O3 x( |' W; F- q
After lunch, we had a party in the student center. Many students put make up on their faces and wore some strange clothingcostume. They were singing and dancing there. What a happy day!! C; S$ d& e# ^6 q2 N' g
When we gothome, it turned dark. My child said, “Dad, may I go out and ask for candies?”! @# ]& Z: k6 L" g6 X/ m( p$ e
“Yes. Why not?” I said.
N3 F) b) t: M( e2 R$ fMy child went out with a bag. I stayed at homewith my wife, waiting for neighbours' kids. To my surprise, only three children came to my home, and I was left with many unclaimedcandies. And, one hour later, my child came back with a full bag. “Dad,” She said, “My bag is full. I have many candies now. What an interesting day!”* n9 d8 B( E$ |/ O
“You are right, my child.” I said, “Halloween is the most interesting holiday in Canada, I think.”
