: r# E6 c/ N( u$ hAfter I settled down in Edmonton, I celebrated Canada Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Remembrance Day. All of them arevery interesting to me, but I have to say that the most enjoyable holiday is Halloween.5 W9 t# R+ U2 A9 V4 z6 {6 o' E$ j
My teacher told me I should prepare candies, and many children would come to my home and ask for them. So, I bought many candies from Zellers and Safeway. When I got back home with the candies, my wife told me that there were not enough, so I went to Safeway again and bought more.. l" X: e! p1 i- k8 G
My child was shy and didn’t speak much English, so I taught her how to shout “Trick or Treat”. After two days of training, she is perfect at shouting “Trick or Treat” . 6 D6 Z% R* ^) g% y( ~/ c
October 31st is Halloween. I got up very early that day. My wife prepared chicken which I was going to bring to class for a potluck. My child was very happy because she had already been waitingfor this day for a long time.4 f$ I) _; N6 Z: l& L# z
In the afternoon, we had a potluck in the class. Yuong Sook, a Korean girl, made some sushi which looked very beautiful. Chun Yuan, a Chinese girl, cooked some bouilli which tasted very delicious. Of course my wife cooked the best food because they were all cleared off all gone.! v* B, a; ~2 h8 X6 D# b3 S! i
After lunch, we had a party in the student center. Many students put make up on their faces and wore some strange clothingcostume. They were singing and dancing there. What a happy day!+ n! {3 b( O* K% q1 m& s
