Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator ( ]& {, N& G' ], X% M
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
" {, W; h% I0 N+ B# x8 ]4 o- submit information for community news ! B: y( f$ O6 i% d& t
- provide volunteers to update membership database8 u0 P8 X' t ~4 }
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
' s. D; e- y* q4 r: [- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties& c, |2 D9 z- A- |* l, s
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties+ ~( N$ C* E+ Y+ t9 `3 p$ k
- provide volunteers for various programs
; R, V! y/ x* g- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual2 e; y6 L' C: \4 {
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation& Z; M- z( K2 z3 p1 K* |
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities2 p( Q. k: X& A- L1 r$ @4 a
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
1 T3 E( j- M6 e% Y/ u- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
- X0 X u0 [. r- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed" t3 M6 Q( c v$ {: ?
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed( z- U7 `4 n/ h0 v/ a) x4 b6 M
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
6 e0 W. h. X) N( m- K+ I% b; T& M2 A/ Z- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ! k2 s- a, V8 k7 x- O
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 2 W( ]1 N* ]8 L: w1 z
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers

' C# g3 B1 G2 J2 u+ M3 n" l- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ! t# ]8 `: k5 o3 A4 ^+ Z5 Y( V

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

. w, [. [) q6 V9 }- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education; K2 Y4 M9 T( E4 `/ |& C8 O
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 n3 X0 p" p/ K+ h, }- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
8 I- u: t# x6 h8 d; z- leadership skills

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
