Key Responsibilities
# o4 x# k- s4 h, h( I- submit information for community news
: l# q( T& S( X& s- provide volunteers to update membership database/ Y5 f3 `# I' `% v4 O
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers b* W. s6 J8 J" N# {& Q
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
+ z! z% q j* w, i! X- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties( S) l# `% j% ?/ D" F( f9 j D$ B, X
- provide volunteers for various programs
, _- T% c- N0 U& m9 |- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
* s' w0 l+ E, Z. Z# d- K- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation5 f! V7 Y+ H9 Z& p
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities: N9 c* Y" T1 F- ]5 S& y
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services; h* {' Q. \- [8 m& M
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports. g8 C. \5 C" U% o+ z; ?
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed ]9 i( V5 c! E4 ]( ?/ b# W
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed* N H7 }# r8 q6 A( i K. ^
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
+ Z2 {! Y& u$ ~" i6 o. {4 f- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 3 t3 P' I" }% S6 \# K1 L
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 7 e* g0 o( p& e8 m: i G7 G
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers : f3 a R9 S, }) \
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
8 c! d9 d7 u! b, D- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis & s: K+ g2 Y* g3 z! J
- evaluations

Qualifications) ~1 F/ s' h) m. R
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education l( M# g8 V1 v D3 _3 K
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
3 Q4 k3 _; _' q. k. i- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services0 S9 r$ ]* P# n; t4 D. _- R
- leadership skills; i1 T6 E1 P9 g) L. } [/ W6 S1 @
- management and supervision skills( v+ E7 C& b9 L2 E
