Board

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals3 |9 u8 \6 D% O4 |+ ~% {' J  l+ Q
•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board+ Y; v! g- C; y/ t
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements

•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets

•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers

•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth

% g4 A& e$ I7 D•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

Programs/Services( p) o, @, [6 ^; \
•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services3 {* m$ e3 J, u7 m2 V/ i
•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
% [2 \' l2 `7 ^4 y- O) e•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
5 M  T% @( l( e" z7 a  C0 \; ]•        set program priorities and directions 0 h$ h4 |8 F5 b1 D
•        identify community and user needs and trends
; @# [( e8 V; s& B& s•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends
9 e7 I0 E* H1 E. v) c2 C7 l) m1 o- `•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research* k8 s1 g; N+ c& A9 V! v7 s& c
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting

•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development- N7 |8 @, E* s0 A  R$ D7 v
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities: A" o: W% C$ n: ]5 i
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders  G  K" l& m) v$ ^& `5 n
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public. n0 s. O8 ~, m# }; W9 w
•        identify community needs and trends
) y; A* M) |3 g# v" C•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups3 V; ^" l4 u( K# f% |- d! n) E
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups' H7 {3 H+ W6 d# Z0 m- U% k
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
0 P2 L6 |! C! l' x5 N8 e•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff
! M* k: o* p, E8 y2 A% x$ W% c2 W" m1 ]# Y2 v0 W3 F; l4 b4 z1 R0 ?
Qualifications* c% K, c  @, y, q! [
-        University degree in a related field;
* i& A/ P9 o" r& ]' {$ {  G/ Q-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;, y) o3 D- R1 ?* r
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
: V; D3 u2 S# h: D1 P5 {9 s: S-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
9 `4 Z3 m2 R2 T$ ~' g! B# g
( K; u: x/ }. ^$ [6 T( nSalary! T1 z. d0 b; c+ x* s
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits % U8 e8 y- [. a# z$ X; \

) C, N8 Q: k* x$ p' B( rStandard Requirements- B; f# `1 k( u6 Q
-        Security check ( at the expense of employee) and child welfare check
