Job Description

•        reports directly to the Board of Directors
3 r% q' @5 I. N5 r•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
/ F7 T+ d2 T# X6 I7 Z# s3 b•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
5 o% Y' _1 A" Y9 X5 @2 I* c•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements

•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff8 @; E) E  B+ r9 ~
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers& x/ a; t& H+ S$ f: {
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
- z: U9 z5 E# u+ H% n$ B7 J•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators: T. a+ e; H. {- U7 @9 \# q7 O
•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth; _0 _0 w' c4 p+ i' I
•        meet with staff on regular basis7 ?6 I1 Y' o: R
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

' U; l8 r: r' _: H•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services# p; d7 d8 I, v, U
•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
+ l$ ^: u+ N9 I+ J" R+ Y•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
) B  d% V$ J: a! c3 ]•        set program priorities and directions
/ w7 x4 |9 v$ B6 X•        identify community and user needs and trends# |* k& I- V' ~: P
•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends( o* h+ \4 ^5 C3 e( _& {1 X% ^
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
  R/ g8 D7 F& L7 U/ ^' o+ F! A; A! p•        maintenance of appropriate reporting
  W9 ?4 x' y5 a* b5 Y•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required! P6 F9 ~  S; e' B* h
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development
2 y* W: w$ O5 q•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations# Y- d1 h0 t. ?* w& ^. i: c* X# }
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
1 ?) B0 T/ s& o8 r•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders7 a# W/ l# q4 x6 q! S
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public
* w/ t$ U# ^! `& P8 f7 W9 |- A! y•        identify community needs and trends8 P7 l, c: D% i! l, }
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups( g1 h. c8 R7 z8 ?
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
0 c: [; M9 _' Q8 e& q•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
/ u; \7 n0 J6 e•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff. F" N% V" m: l, F* p* B

* P7 x+ }0 ]  E& W6 e, R& M0 HQualifications
% i- K, j% k* d8 N) H-        University degree in a related field; 1 O; O$ V& k$ c9 s3 k
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
# x- n0 [& d' g: v5 l. e" X. G7 o-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
3 e, p8 \1 g2 L% z-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
& m, X9 T( ?% z* G# i! O' |9 m9 U0 O1 u: n
Salary" U4 S) o. }* d6 m
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits % u5 k5 p6 {- H5 d, z

9 B2 [2 Z0 R9 A4 J6 E' TStandard Requirements
