Position title: Community Development Worker

* `% F- l- \6 d6 P: _Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services% L4 C1 K9 f# x: W6 J
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies' ~3 Y2 T& v* L1 {' ~, @9 i
- coordinate good will activities# y. A8 u- {# r4 E4 A
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members
w- S1 |# W, V2 ^! G- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP
- H& r' s4 F: E9 U3 t! l- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team
$ v$ S9 v. d# c4 _* F- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

( o. S( C2 C/ c. Q1 }- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 7 m# j! p0 Y7 f4 E. V3 w
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 C( w0 t- U. J2 z" x
- experience in community work and immigrant services

- leadership skills
