Position title: Community Development Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community. [* Q3 R( B7 z I
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services' F/ O- r' @' V' z3 }9 K$ L: I
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services9 h! L5 U: v. A- D8 [
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
* ~2 T, X1 L* U: Y8 Y! C8 o- coordinate good will activities
! K* g+ F8 H6 z- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members' i# f7 [, \0 Q$ }$ L* e6 D; e
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre! C7 W8 P X* [0 O4 D7 P1 \
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
7 W4 F% u" R6 H- assist in writing proposal for ISP
' \% K9 G x/ l. { c* P/ `- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team

- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 2 @9 q) w: J5 d& A- V0 x
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills; B) `- J$ m" A3 B
- experience in community work and immigrant services
/ `/ u' N# ` w- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
