3 I. e( U# E$ |5 S. v% E9 hPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services+ n2 Q2 d0 j5 ~/ F9 m0 Q/ o: o
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services5 q+ u: b- j F8 Z! T
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
- }6 ^# s5 ]- b- coordinate good will activities
1 z: h$ G* A* y$ D- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members( r; [/ b ^5 F y( i$ q
- submit information for community news 3 A' h5 h9 v& M6 v2 C2 M: t; Y
- prepare and send AGM information to members
$ f- Z7 W- L% R- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.5 N( W' G" V+ c6 D5 i" {, Z
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities+ T$ Q. m: G! z/ q. N3 S
- update ASSIST website
% D, C8 r1 v( n8 h- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
- S1 F. }* o% [# h- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education

- experience in community work and immigrant services6 w6 q3 l B3 _7 ]* `( b0 {' M
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars% ^7 Y0 \5 u# E' x- S, D$ ^

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
