B+ Q) a& w/ APosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. ! ^) o0 b6 N; \4 B( U- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
/ N0 y2 A8 b5 @9 [- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services- |$ f9 C8 S; p7 W( y8 h& C
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

: L' n+ ]: }# o+ \- E- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.) E) b% S: O0 I$ M+ D2 I
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities. C2 j3 b0 e7 @
- update ASSIST website0 h7 i& E' Y% u% P
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
" t* p& @8 f" E; V# l9 ?- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services- \* u1 f$ P) q4 ^) d' r
- assist in writing proposal for ISP
) M6 c P" B7 t* m- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications! G4 K( C! a1 w) k2 m' a/ {! H
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education : m& Z5 @8 p, _. O: I
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ k+ e; I) ~$ e- experience in community work and immigrant services
