FUNCTIONS:

/ j! |" H# ` bAs the Corporate Financial Co-ordinator within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting office of the Finance Branch, you will lead the year-end reporting functions within the City as well as the operating fund corporate accounting, and guide the development of related policy, procedures, and strategies. This includes:( @' X6 z# W, i% e/ o

· Coordinating the completion of the annual consolidated financial statements, the Provincial municipal information return, and other financial reporting for audit.

" c' {: v1 [5 y· Providing advice within the organization and to related Boards and Authorities on options for resolution of financial and reporting issues.$ @, Q7 `! b. w- B/ u

· Research and coordination for implementation of new professional accounting and reporting requirements for municipalities.

· Managing a group of professional and administrative staff, in completing ongoing corporate accounting functions.; R/ }3 g/ ^, R3 J6 R

· Performing the regular and customary managerial functions including decisions respecting staff hire/promotion, work assignment, performance appraisal, discipline, and leave/overtime authorization.- c) f" t5 u( m

· University Degree majoring in accounting or finance, and a Professional Accounting Designation.2 R9 V# Q* e& G) b4 a
- e- m# j- d4 b6 l· A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the financial accounting and reporting field.2 X: C9 t0 h$ r0 N' P8 T m

· Experience with complex computerized financial systems. Familiarity with SAP would be advantageous.
