As the Corporate Financial Co-ordinator within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting office of the Finance Branch, you will lead the year-end reporting functions within the City as well as the operating fund corporate accounting, and guide the development of related policy, procedures, and strategies. This includes:

· Coordinating the completion of the annual consolidated financial statements, the Provincial municipal information return, and other financial reporting for audit. I' T6 ^! g# i8 s& Y
) L$ `- w+ A# P2 C5 H· Providing advice within the organization and to related Boards and Authorities on options for resolution of financial and reporting issues.& P2 x( u( z1 g6 \3 B3 `

· Research and coordination for implementation of new professional accounting and reporting requirements for municipalities.

· Leading the development of related policy and procedures, and internal training where required.

· Performing the regular and customary managerial functions including decisions respecting staff hire/promotion, work assignment, performance appraisal, discipline, and leave/overtime authorization.& x' ]" c$ o2 V% |

JOB REQUIREMENTS:. y- S$ o* b7 B+ y6 z; H
; Q( ]& P% R- e· University Degree majoring in accounting or finance, and a Professional Accounting Designation.

· A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the financial accounting and reporting field.

· Experience with complex computerized financial systems. Familiarity with SAP would be advantageous.9 _( C* g( V0 a: I* y# e

· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

· A thorough knowledge of municipal accounting and reporting practices and standards.
