• 1/2 cup butter

• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract( if you like the flavor)
* v2 r% V, ^9 d& v0 n• 1 1/2 cups sifted flour ( if you don’t like the trouble, use all-purpose flour)

• 4 eggs, well beaten
& {" {! L* G. @1 D1 O& C, r3 r% KPREPARATION:; n7 F$ B$ A! J) ~, i+ ^
Beat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition.
2 Y/ V% ?3 L! d; `4 ITurn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
$ K" Q$ n0 o- @, eBake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered.

) d: @6 T7 b# ~5 o& yI normally strictly follow the amount for each ingredient the recipe calls for, except SUGAR( I prefer to cut it to ¾ or 2/3 of the recipe. It is too sweet for some Chinese. But if you like the sweetness of the Cake Mix you got from super market, you can follow the recipe.
