Context: The Edmonton Social Planning Council is a not for profit organization that provides leadership to the community and its organizations in addressing social issues and effecting changes to social policy.! X. Y$ M+ x! f9 g" ^1 L
i6 A! W/ R; nThis position is responsible for: managing/promotion the ESPC Resource Library (including compiling & purchasing resources, retrieving/analyzing reference materials, promoting library materials & services, etc.); consulting with community partners about their social research priorities and needs (helping to inform the creation of new research partnerships and projects). `6 i1 v* g" q# F2 V% N1 ^% N0 ?
( @' f6 w" M# | oPLUS: assisting with ongoing research projects (in particular, data and information retrieval and analysis, and report preparation) and various other responsibilities including, but not limited to, assisting in website maintenance., L `+ I9 j" x* c
) V: G, g$ d# L3 ^The successful applicant will: hold a post secondary degree (or related experience) in the social sciences or a related field; have research & analytical skills/experience; possess excellent written/verbal communication skills; be well organized & have confident computer skills.7 U2 M; x7 M) x6 C
6 W7 e3 W# p4 ]* E& g5 i: i% [; ePLUS: able to work independently & within a team environment; have a keen interest in social issues & a desire to make a difference through one's work.
