' b. d' O5 M$ w: u * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
1 J* ~- M+ O# y * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography1 r& x7 B# W/ n& S6 o- p! _8 u
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
v) T3 f: U, Y$ e7 ?! Y3 j. h * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client% h. v3 N1 ]' E! C7 R2 \( L, A
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
9 B) C6 _5 F6 f2 F: t' @ J * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals2 r6 o( d9 ^& B/ u1 {5 C+ ~
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab

* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

4 [' d* a( [' p2 E# e * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
7 C q2 e5 h2 [0 B3 j( u! H * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
: Z9 D: y) N# Z4 `0 n- [1 `4 I3 K# f * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
