6 F8 f3 R& B4 d2 P * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
* |' o4 l3 T7 Z* O! j: g * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
9 G7 G b4 G+ T% a4 H# W * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques& P) @' k# \8 e! F- h+ h
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client, {7 A( h. w# i9 M" N7 b. l4 a* E. ~
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry* W2 k$ ?7 X/ J
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals6 O/ y! o% w2 p9 k" u7 B2 \
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab- t( x+ C- ~5 O5 c
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
6 r# {7 \& D: o% i( h( n1 O * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)* X1 E0 f! @8 D ^

Qualifications3 L$ c. W; [/ M1 {, D

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred2 U8 o N7 i9 x5 O! N
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
