3 P$ S6 T0 Q/ z9 D2 ^Context: Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is a nonprofit immigrant serving agency. The New Neighbours Program provides services aimed at facilitating the settlement/integration of newcomers into Canadian society. 3 D* a' C: Z B! R1 q( k( D: s
- H4 u: ]! h8 R8 J) J' w: Y8 VKey responsibilities: overseeing the day-to-day activities/operations of the program; recruitment, training & supervision of volunteers for the program; recruitment/orientation of participants; matching newcomers with community volunteers & monitoring the matches; planning other program activities; maintain computer dBase record of services/activities.1 b. Y$ L! r, _) ^9 C# z2 i
5 R5 E6 B6 Y/ c; y) z0 hPLUS: act as a resource person; fulfill program accountability requirements; collaborate, network with other organizations /professionals liaison with ethno-cultural & immigrant community organizations; represent EISA at meetings and functions related to the program. 6 r- |% T* G& K! 9 ~0 u* W$ |0 `) h bKey Qualifications - Degree or Diploma in social work, social sciences or related areas. > Special requirements include: 2-3 years experience in program coordination; excellent interpersonal/communication skills, cultural sensitivity; knowledge & experience in volunteer management; good knowledge of available community resources/services. . ~; Y) {' ]( F4 s) x# _

PLUS: demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; experience working with immigrant families and/or settlement services, community development or non-profit org. an asset. . o# J0 S9 D7 c% {! ~0 j J* G
