, [ B# A; y" H7 v * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region, T6 B' b, Y: |6 d, c0 E; U. u$ T
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group1 E6 i1 t$ b0 M- Y8 p* D S
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
6 X$ Q: l' x8 r# }* `4 b) _/ M* s+ o * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations: k7 V+ B8 n9 Z( S+ Y3 S. |6 ~0 x
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
+ u4 V) F' m+ r% V X * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
! d2 _9 M" W) x * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth* n2 H1 }* @: Q3 v; d8 Z
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program: [ R t0 {9 s& I5 H7 V5 w3 T
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
# X4 ^9 y3 ^ i" X0 N5 ~ * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports v% D6 j+ |9 m! I3 d* C: v; c0 n$ j0 b
* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities7 p. `4 _" p2 H" B1 s0 c- s# o6 Y
* Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

' h: H% z* C0 T) Y: S' p3 n * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline9 D z! p9 @# m
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
5 J g) D0 A% ^8 f' ]5 c * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies# m1 A/ K4 q; A8 _' F4 y \+ H- h
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs

* Fundraising skills an asset

* Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
