    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region3 _7 w- Y( W/ Z" B5 u/ r
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group/ P/ t, B' d6 B, N3 e# F
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators9 D' B; S. ]! N8 L& N3 f  h
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations2 v1 \0 I7 |; p# ^5 }# Z
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
: R* v) {: c1 \1 w    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses

    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program: T2 q( c! Y: v* b7 \! `; q
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
' i/ _% P- f! V9 E    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly% B( C' T1 N8 O7 u( T
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities# S9 A3 S) n" o6 G
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
6 `; M+ N# B: g2 s& I( h  |
# N8 p4 F* P& d* [  V    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline/ t' c6 a, Z6 i7 ~- e
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
& i' m' ?6 v5 c. L    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
9 U7 W7 R& D% ^. {0 i$ q    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
/ a4 b- {% @& c0 [& P2 ~    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
4 A* m$ t# M% A) t2 p5 c" v! J    * Fundraising skills an asset& T  _! w1 N0 i. R0 o3 ]5 j# x; [
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills5 h3 b% j: b! ?- I5 |0 k' v
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills$ e8 \. X$ P1 o8 c, l
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills  l! O5 u: t* D" j
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
( ^. r, p( H3 d( o2 Z) u    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
