* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
# _* T6 Y) m, X1 p; ] * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
% K+ q8 Q O0 l * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
3 y$ ]) ~* J. n! F+ Z C4 @2 h * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
o+ Z N$ y0 \5 _ * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
$ p+ M) }$ q3 `; T * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
& R4 Q$ ]: v+ {$ e& J; a* l * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
, b7 ]0 N1 N3 [: r" ~( F& b% m& J * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
" h; D; \/ g' j. `5 V) A * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs" |2 X9 Q/ ?2 D
* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly# Y, H$ X5 u, ]- B) v: j! s
* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities5 B2 p G- B. Q
* Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
8 G: f% G* b8 Y( F" K) }$ W * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
/ v/ M2 R. R# V) _ * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
" g0 z7 ^& x7 @4 }; O; L * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs8 P7 A' o8 V9 e Z1 @) `
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community; F/ |6 g% J! y$ R1 u
* Fundraising skills an asset
# y6 l& Z4 t5 r3 p, Y* B4 J * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
