Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
; J. }5 z5 K2 v; S) \* s' _* d * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities+ l4 b( t! e, D7 f) F+ E0 x
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes# O/ P. |: ?* k1 K
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
1 e& w- {6 T: Z2 Y * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders4 t c5 j7 M3 |# R: L
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
% d* v8 P! x' s! `/ @ * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs: Q, S# q: ^0 z' [
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
`1 k: s! r+ e% J$ V * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies6 H* ~2 ^3 M7 ^5 l- |* D

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred( k% B9 g7 g' I# k2 B8 j
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
* }6 t4 K' x7 F- t3 g * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
+ J% Y S6 M0 n+ l H * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
$ a. I. P* E2 m6 v( m" ~ * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills

* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
