Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program- _( A0 E' ^. o- t
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
7 W2 _4 v. T9 e3 p% L7 M * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
" }( ?# N5 ?2 n" S+ ^0 k( A9 m7 P * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
# M+ V1 P2 c5 T8 Y% N * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
F! W% J; Q# J% ]2 T * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements9 R* j) R8 @+ b% k3 `- _1 d; R: G. U
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs; J& ~1 ?$ r% a/ D5 S& E+ ~* I
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director- \9 \' P- G& O: C( I+ B; |
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

" U- K6 R' J- E' o; n3 R6 G * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

Qualifications; L( s2 K, U: D+ n% ?7 H
; ]0 J" C" F# P M( V W0 {
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
. s! \9 v7 i) Y, _! j * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
1 D4 T& Q; o4 s& v) B * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset" U% n" ?/ y& ^. |2 \. F; k; g. V
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies# P# E& C# w& P/ n8 u
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
" L) p8 y3 ?1 J+ I3 b * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
