Duties
9 ^9 U% ]- B+ E) u( h& G# t5 h3 {+ {7 c4 b, k1 y
    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
1 n$ n) p8 U5 W& i8 L1 S    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities9 j, m0 I  V# k5 ~" m! }6 J/ j/ e7 D
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes' c& o6 g% g% h5 H) J" y! C  U. N3 f
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat9 f% K: T4 m% w* e4 ^! m
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
5 J+ w7 M7 m3 b, f7 e    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
5 q0 }4 G% C. [6 `3 Z* @% d% o    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
8 \/ P' L/ `2 K' B    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director. n2 V8 {6 ?+ ^; a: |2 e3 E
    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
5 H6 I+ m: l$ @* `& @    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials9 V1 a/ i0 w% f. Y
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
; M5 j6 \6 H% f# I    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results$ J! A( S# \7 J( g
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies9 w6 D' A9 j- t

+ q$ Z* h# I: X( m2 r6 p    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred& B, m  N/ f' b
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
7 A" ^/ u6 U) t8 r2 I( i    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset6 e' _( G- v, v0 ~. [; s
    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
% B: t8 W4 s6 Q, g( f. U: u3 K- M8 A    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills! J4 ^. C5 {" n
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning( t- g6 `: p3 N3 ^& i: H% D
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation): \8 J, p$ K2 R! O  J+ _6 I  q
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills: q: D" \5 r' |' _
