If you dont care if it's purebred or not, you can adopt one from SPCA, Petcetera, or Petsmart, where they have new-born or very young puppies occasionally, and adult dogs anytime. Adoption fee will be around $200 including the spay/neuter surgery fee and the vaccination. This is the most economic way and helpful for those poor animals.

% X; x/ K: G9 r4 C' _' Z0 COtherwise, you are recommended to find a responsible breeder in the adjacent area, which is more reliable than buying from kijiji or other personals. The price will be of just a little bit different or even the same. But you can get much more from responsible breeders, such as health guarantee, vaccinnation shots, pedigree certificates, CKC registration,...and so on.0 ^) q% ^# n9 O: d9 U

Anyway, think more about your own responsibility...A dog's life is as long as 10-15 years. Have you been really prepared to welcome a new member to your family for that long? You are still a student now, and have you thought about it when you are busy studying, taking exams, graduating, looking for jobs, moving to new locations, being married, having children, ......?
