急问:公立小学的"COGITO PROGRAM"是什么意思

今天给孩子报名上学,登记的老师问是"REGULAR"还是"COGITO"?只好拿点材料走了,看了看也不清楚两者区别.另外听说还有AC,IB等等PROGRAM,这些都是什么意思?
另外,天主教学校好吗?

Cogito is an alternative program for children Grades K to 9. As enrollment continues to grow Cogito is approved to continue to Grade 12. This Edmonton Public Schools program has been in successful operation since 1995.
The program is designed for the student who is willing to work to achieve a high level of academic excellence, in a knowledge-based program, and an atmosphere of structured and sequenced learning. Critical thinking is stressed. Students work in an environment that encourages self-discipline.

我个人不愿意送孩子教会学校，我觉得教会学校是一种强灌
