A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.) e" p s* f' k( g8 M
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
' I* r+ N+ ?2 l( }knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
2 b, \- B% P4 ]• Standard Child Care First Aid: l, v+ C7 C' g" r" N
• WHMIS
7 h) C9 \) l l W• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care/ z* q+ I# Y3 r% R0 p' r
• Components to improve communication skills
5 j* U+ u6 U; U1 U! Y• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search) J/ L% ~8 _0 ]5 C3 l
• Practicum Placements1 @% S2 v% `6 d- o$ T+ L
Eligibility Criteria) p" D" t, @) s1 y) n9 U
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
) g9 N1 n6 p; e. |of Canada
6 D& n8 o# p \$ U, \6 E! T• have a Social Insurance Number, n) r7 x. q% y5 @
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
. [ k# k2 u1 f- U• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
, _2 n- D0 F9 A4 ^, P" X• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet

• be unemployed or underemployed.
. d+ t* |+ y; XThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course( R) Q% L6 z" v
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
