A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care., Q, Z" h1 `* ^& u' M7 L# M+ N8 F
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and. A9 U9 u' y& ` c! `! y/ H5 o% T5 l
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
' \8 @; k, B4 q( V$ r3 h• Standard Child Care First Aid" B: Y) Z- t% V; j, k' G
• WHMIS
3 ]" X+ q: i5 a( z) Z• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
" Y# c2 S! h, f: i• Components to improve communication skills
- Z/ c% t* E- A• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search/ ]7 t( C$ V" r
• Practicum Placements

. e( J% T: c7 {1 Q% x* t' ~• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
6 ]" E; c0 ?" d6 Xof Canada* c7 R$ U1 Z N$ N& |# O9 ^8 ~9 ^
• have a Social Insurance Number! O0 |- [+ e' H. _* ^# C
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check0 W0 @: R6 D5 w3 |! o# y
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
" @ y2 a, p/ U8 j# [8 u• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
& j( h. h% C4 r6 K9 Athe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:% e8 l. j+ `+ b* `
• be unemployed or underemployed.

• meet the financial eligibility criteria
