. R/ Y/ H7 J5 i * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
' }. j" Y* D* W4 F * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis# j. b8 Z3 a v) B# h- f
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
- ?+ N2 z) T7 n$ X2 r/ e% \ * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 2 b: d D M) y9 d; p! M
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies: P3 ]; J: z( A7 i
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs6 S; F/ f% b% o5 z
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
