Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
- A. Y. s" N3 I7 v provide services for Chinese community. n4 H+ `# T+ ~8 Q! `
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population }4 a$ R# c' |7 D
access to mainstream services
& ~- Y5 b, h( [* s# v* P- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
) }3 s" \# ~. a0 C5 \ social services
& f, _8 K/ E0 H2 k! _7 @- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
u8 e6 C: c) g( y+ _; t" L- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members, s" y/ o) W' t9 v; T q* k/ ^" t
- update ASSIST website
' s; ~6 ~( z4 F) X1 Y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre% a) z5 I7 c, G; m9 @' n4 K' E) N
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services& ?; h/ L9 }4 P+ V1 T F
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
) f- r) R9 M4 U' s) A- update membership database; |! B% k+ I3 u
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of

, y) C3 _3 J7 i* P- good oral and written Chinese and English skills5 f. L1 h9 G' _0 D0 A3 `
- experience in community work and immigrant services
- ~% C: X$ o/ u# q- experience in website update/design5 y, `# ]0 o7 b1 |: X
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
