Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description

provide services for Chinese community6 A- h. Q& P* I
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ' k6 z1 k( ^' z# {6 H( P! z
access to mainstream services
) f5 y5 Q; J! F" E8 c- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
8 O- n; V- g. E- X3 r) G! t social services
' X, a- f* U8 h% D- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
/ z9 A5 v$ E# v- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members: ~: B0 j& x; h9 E$ o1 m
- update ASSIST website
" u s- D. K2 b' j5 l- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre6 S* {" l# o3 i0 ~
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
* y. _% T+ H6 Z4 `; d- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
; z! p j# p8 i- U5 g N experience and education % A8 F3 ?: ^- _
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills1 x1 h+ w v7 I9 k5 C2 m
- experience in community work and immigrant services7 o) A! |5 }! g5 I0 X' e
- experience in website update/design
# I. o7 `+ }* i! ^0 k$ \- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
