OTTAWA (AFP) — The number of people infected with swine flu in Canada rose to eight Tuesday, after health officials confirmed two cases in the western province of Alberta., L) q+ j N5 I1 c2 E! y

"Two cases of human swine influenza have been confirmed in Alberta -- one in Calgary and the other in northern Alberta," said Dr Andre Corriveau, Alberta's chief medical officer for health matters, in a statement.

! e0 ~" _) u) o"Both individuals are male and have experienced a mild form of human swine flu," Corriveau said, adding that one of the patients already had fully recovered, while the other was nearly better.' {% B2 i) z3 {6 H# J6 Q$ ^7 R% b

Officials said neither illness had required hospitalization, and said both individuals contracted the virus during recent travel to Mexico.$ h) I6 B" H8 e" A( q: s8 M
