Shoot in RAW and underexpose your image by 1/2 stop to a full stop.

/ g- d: i2 ^ ]; L4 t! E, Arestore shadow detail and Exposure Compensation to bring back details without overexposing highlights. Use the Channel Mixer, Black and White3 u' W7 ?$ `2 R+ X0 a
methods provided by RAW and you'll have a correctly exposed black$ T, ?9 T' w% g2 m4 x& V7 Y( o" _
and white image.

White Balance

white coffee filter. Use the custom camera white balance while aiming9 d: R, A# K+ f# @
the coffee filter and lens to the opposite of the light source to get white* N) O5 d; o" w' O! z) `: x; V
balance. I always keep coffee filters in my camera bag for
) e- V9 {& w" S0 U; xsuch occasions.

ISO boost from your camera and faster shutter speeds - choose
4 h! T; k8 C+ X; n; ethe highest ISO setting on your camera and underexpose your image
! t* b+ {* K7 Z* Tby one stop. Then you can use a RAW processor to overexpose the
% C' \; B& ~3 ^4 ~image by one or two stops. Image noise may be higher but this% I5 |7 R( @+ Y! m
works very well for concert, venue and event shooting. |
