Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

- Q* f; ?* ^8 T& A- t0 WActivity Planning and Daily Activity
9 G* C8 Z8 [6 _•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
- a4 M4 u2 j( E+ [& N; ]3 b•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
& b) i, K$ ~' ~) k2 O, U•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
1 v( m5 [# U% A•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

" t4 q; D5 B! u  m0 P•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
! j& ]0 I  K. |: e1 m1 \2 g•        Experience with children
- Y0 ~  u+ t$ P. u9 w7 h3 m  I•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
0 S% ^  r" \( E9 ~•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
7 n( z) j; l" z1 [0 p1 }•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
1 g- |- w( [% L9 P•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
  b- |% E" c( h0 T5 Q# r5 E& t3 m; W•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
8 J1 |  p7 b" O$ g2 i•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
