Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

4 O$ L% v* {4 zKey Responsibilities Include
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
. R. h/ Y/ }1 O% n. ]•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
1 a4 y+ R( U9 L5 G5 h•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

+ Y: c4 n# d. R0 Y& aThe successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
/ m3 B. @, d0 _9 O5 N•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
% {4 I/ I8 m$ _! u7 S! }4 z# n, P•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
4 T& h, z- A* T/ h" i  R4 O, I& {•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
