Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

7 a' p5 {+ Q) q0 i" c(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
, t0 O, z& _- f U i" k& QActivity Planning and Daily Activity" E/ v: `4 e# u. _) |2 w c% `5 ?/ l
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.9 p& J1 Y1 Y* j y& Q5 ~
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ; I" ^ W) t% }! L9 |& V- F
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, " J+ k+ D) a B% ?. _7 Z% k6 X( @
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
& S1 C3 u9 B- u/ k3 i• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.3 L& [5 z) ?) M! v1 T# U# t9 k0 O
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.. x7 Q3 q" G1 b- ]. p/ @2 s
; L3 h b, q" a5 NThe successful candidate will have:
5 ^. z/ M7 i: |• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting C0 b! y8 C- V- q
• Experience with children1 Y6 J2 B% w$ t8 ]( q$ i4 K6 K- l
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth V* H" P; M6 {( g0 C* L
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.. I" p7 g4 j0 o0 d
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
