Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. " l: _% ^" N! V: x! T( }

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students $ v0 m% z# ^/ F& H# D- Q
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school); u& g& i: D5 n, a

Key Responsibilities Include" _' S9 }, G* T
Activity Planning and Daily Activity' I q7 a6 ]7 V% `
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.4 C) o7 `# v& S" `
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
% s- Z2 W8 w$ S9 L• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, . f) h6 c3 K9 g+ U% K
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.7 o& v! S" c$ n, I0 f
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
9 S; j! | R/ D' y4 g• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.4 m I# ^+ }9 ~8 N# @2 n

The successful candidate will have:
( f5 C6 q' k+ _# R! K7 [1 h• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting$ @7 M# r4 j A4 N5 w
• Experience with children+ w& p- N- S: O& f' `
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 5 w4 Q5 Q s0 N, r
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.% j* E6 \( E8 p$ Y y1 {1 Q
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.9 d5 [, J2 N7 o$ t8 A
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources

. w; s# h0 s6 ~( ~; {• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check ; m k4 R4 x' B H7 H( v
