Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

1 ]' X2 y( l/ W; \% N" BKey Responsibilities Include:& \" W+ c1 v+ g( D# Z% o& X
Activity Planning and Daily Activity, x/ D$ J" R! W! X$ z7 F) U" \
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
4 e4 Z G, q/ [. I• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
$ M9 J) b" j+ h/ I" A. }7 _• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
) R9 f6 Y: N; l• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
7 g5 @, ~/ g6 A; j2 h/ J& x• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
* L) e! j* {0 z- @• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.; h5 w4 E' }6 ~4 |: ^! k% e
/ W+ h, m1 e8 q8 VThe successful candidate will have:/ _, G/ m: h3 n. D; Y5 T! v. B
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
4 @9 a$ u, S" Z7 \ B1 E0 z* ^- H4 M: b• Experience with children3 P# c# H6 ^4 i3 U' p
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth + H i. T7 X$ g4 ]0 o h* O$ @
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
' y k& _" b8 D& E& w% v: N: X' q• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

, t, s4 v4 ^- t& J7 f• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
3 l' F- N$ A6 t• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
