Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. ; X5 m+ {& ~8 Y+ N* L

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Activity Planning and Daily Activity) a8 s, J; {$ ~/ t5 u) ^
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.# V7 L W3 s, C3 w1 ]" ]% I
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
# `* |# s4 S. c# t+ k2 {• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
A+ P6 p4 h9 C• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.2 t: ?1 k0 Y2 i' e% X
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
) _0 ~ V" ?9 Z• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.# ^( z$ ~8 G2 A5 r, ^/ D

The successful candidate will have:
0 k: o' {: |+ h• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
" B, A7 y6 a" b4 @2 Y• Experience with children
2 W8 x4 }; v1 n" ]0 d1 j• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
3 d6 `: f j1 J. O: g• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
- e2 l3 w$ N3 z& P• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
( Z% j2 p/ L- D* f" J• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
" h) I9 ~$ V& I8 c, z" @• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
