Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. 0 S3 Y( E, O3 L- q' h

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff * m( v m. b' X
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

! S0 q' \& U7 S5 Y% c- a- XKey Responsibilities Include:. ?4 L# d( C) _" V- A2 X
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
% m9 y, d. g$ Q% P l• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.: V8 H, `# \0 _
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
$ s3 @; R6 D9 E• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 6 t( ^, U% f) E# b" }
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
' c/ _0 G2 _1 Q9 m• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time." W: Y% G3 c1 k: q) i/ Y; U5 }
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting7 r9 Z6 M9 m+ r% ]
• Experience with children, \/ ]+ @2 ^2 W b. R' i) ?
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 4 p- d. G# Y3 f7 s6 s, B2 m& ^$ w
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.& B/ {( C* M+ Q
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.: c/ q* I2 {* S7 P+ y8 i
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
* x9 d( Z! n, n- U, ?( J• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check + H7 n# K# [+ K; R( p' c
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 8 f* X& V% o6 O& s9 W& ^0 B# s
