Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)! q! n9 w' W1 U# {

Key Responsibilities Include:
: i& X; p: O1 ^% P8 l, ~$ K; k3 e, ~, LActivity Planning and Daily Activity! u' n; c* {0 O% m- l9 E+ S4 u
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
1 f/ |+ A3 f2 t9 z3 B P- {" a• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
8 |1 R/ G! n! A• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, " }) s- I+ U+ ]
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
4 g0 x# L0 [; F( s1 j* q# ? ]• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time., ^9 t* N2 E+ U8 o) \( o5 g! W
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.- O9 r6 o, \+ o2 \
/ s3 C! u6 m7 y9 KThe successful candidate will have:9 F7 y" [1 [3 b, Q0 J/ G
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting

# J: b6 R; ^' u, T5 L, G* A• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth + K9 _) |6 n2 r i$ O8 q( K
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
/ P+ U5 F- \- y& G9 D7 C! i1 I+ X• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.. `, {6 a6 w- U2 ~# P' d' `0 w) k
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources9 y7 r8 V( N! P# B3 A
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
4 }3 ^6 D& O8 e: o• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
