4 N- Q Y' {/ e7 _ O' _: a% R, _. E * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory0 q& Q( A; t' Q9 s3 `
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr4 k7 `% o: [: m% p0 M6 E
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps- F" r* N/ V/ G5 F1 w
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations. Q; ]% g( ]8 G' H
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

7 V! f/ T1 S/ I * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
- G9 h. h2 \% X * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
6 W; N, h: G! ^, g * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers- ~* _+ } e& Y+ v5 o; u
* WHMIS training& }) h) w1 D- \3 i# d
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset0 a7 b; o f) d2 z9 t& U2 }9 m
