Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 3 L) ^# t) g- T9 e

Duties: Special Events
" d4 V% O. \ |5 b! ]$ vPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ) S2 y- Q9 b7 x: p- x8 c6 K# d
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
6 @) p: y" F' I+ |# y/ F· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
7 z( Q4 A; v/ Y: cwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the , e' l* `1 `3 [' `' U# T7 l$ G/ }
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure . x- I% q. n: S1 Q( l
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Duties: Volunteer Coordination : M6 x2 W* ]( e! L6 A3 p! I% y
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: . f" n8 X# M/ J# z/ P
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
% a7 c1 I/ p1 A2 N$ K' z/ p8 D· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
+ j2 g6 Y) @* ^0 f, L: @/ O· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 5 w; W* S9 `% b, |* d4 p
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
* j( ?. v. b& Q2 O6 v· Complete program administration, statistics and records

0 x' b! u: M& ^% C# |" ?· Completion of 12th+ w. F6 ~$ p, N
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
' u$ A) j1 ?* p5 p6 ]0 V4 \' n9 OAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
# H& n4 e+ d: p0 V, F" j· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
: ?- \7 u" M4 p5 w# ]) X! y8 mexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
4 e! i) u! }2 k8 ]" o/ |· Experience working with and managing volunteers
# f' k$ ^& k$ [2 v( o4 J· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
8 ?! l% y* h8 S8 J0 C( W9 M· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
9 r, C ]% S# C" h+ J; y9 U· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
