Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 4 A* ^0 K0 _# p, q
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 1 ]0 }8 ]: P% D/ J2 A: B
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 4 N% u5 Y* E1 P4 ^0 f* D* u8 E
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the $ H$ Q! \, [' G& X! e7 o& O
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ) a5 z7 P0 Q6 \2 d# s( y% u
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. % a$ v/ n$ y% u
· Attend and manage Special Events
! @$ a% E [; R0 k* y9 q- h· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 7 o: l# j8 N/ M5 N" T
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
) G( U( d6 v _$ G6 E% B· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers # t( X: d2 w# i4 x. W
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ) M9 n/ q2 m* |7 J& T) B: k. d
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 3 n7 q: |! t' P1 F% o! O
· Complete program administration, statistics and records 4 F9 k4 l$ B4 l5 l A% S/ E
4 \) N. [* D' s; s s3 [4 _$ C6 M! E! YQualifications:
8 p, c+ e3 m& ]* w· Completion of 12th
8 g- w2 Z2 r+ L7 x" b- j Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation / n( q/ F9 f3 }6 J( ]9 y
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. - {% d$ R& @# p
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
, I' i' A) f# J5 @ w# R; ]8 _! Y8 Texperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
! D. H! ]& p4 n' X5 }& b, I) g· Experience working with and managing volunteers & X$ C! B+ T5 p8 R
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors / Q9 l# \( x- D5 \& V
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
1 S! T0 r" T) U· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training * x9 @9 n5 r& k
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
