Duties: Special Events
0 t0 V: h+ Y1 g0 c* t6 {0 ePlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ( @. B8 e1 l: s0 n4 k' \7 i2 R
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 6 }" t0 K0 o) l0 [
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
' @; b( G1 Y! M: q& H3 Jwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 2 r) o; z5 {0 B! n
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure * a, B% B- C" z, z* F$ {1 D
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. I$ ?+ e% e' }8 D
· Attend and manage Special Events " O& s' N$ m. ]* z# K2 f& V
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee ; l3 ?6 V. y; G

Duties: Volunteer Coordination ' h" P* q4 t9 `6 J
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
0 R' B! C$ a2 E" ~% b· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 0 m+ l6 G- P& T% Q; q4 B
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers - R" N6 r( y9 F, }# a6 c8 s& H
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ! |! d3 _$ U9 Z, W8 P/ m- Q
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ) Q3 b2 c( r. N; Z- f* A
· Complete program administration, statistics and records ! d% w# v% S0 ]$ f
" X1 ?0 a' I$ Q8 p# NQualifications: 7 f8 W9 u( f% k
· Completion of 12th8 D% n a. a `/ r1 d2 V
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
; N) N: U$ X) U9 _' x! F7 f* l3 F5 vAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. , Z9 c/ ?: O6 H3 `0 w2 P9 s; ?
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct - G7 \/ @4 I1 p6 o
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events " R! L# P( ?7 w6 X' C `" h) t) i
· Experience working with and managing volunteers 6 }# {7 u% E- I, k+ P
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors - o/ N0 h6 {6 ~, m6 p9 w7 E
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events : t- a) s) R" _0 Y
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
