Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special " F+ x$ ~4 L! q
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
C6 j2 U- p0 Y0 E& L6 E0 gPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
1 v2 Q2 _* F# g! u· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ( V' J {0 ~5 v) R" k, ^* f
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
: Z- e6 f" H8 ^7 n/ o2 ^4 z Ywith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
" e/ Q p) R) m! }/ Radvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 3 @' {" F4 |: v. ?7 K. { H! R
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Duties: Volunteer Coordination v$ a$ @4 W, Q5 _ \& D4 T
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
/ X3 F/ U3 K/ W, v d: C {5 Z· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 2 F+ R) K$ r: ~% Q: ]
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
+ ]' e5 x+ q3 H. v8 z! K$ f· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
3 X, q! z3 n* e# o$ [3 Z" F+ w· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
+ Z) T4 P8 `# V; \· Complete program administration, statistics and records - ~2 s4 ]3 @/ g
4 Y. }" T" ?* P0 o7 FQualifications:
& G5 g; _2 I( s! c9 {+ u8 b· Completion of 12th
: F' n" V0 B5 G Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 0 u/ |4 |8 s& Q: u- w3 M% c
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. x! ? t9 q. A2 @9 B
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ) C0 R& O$ C: Q3 j& Q0 G' y T# g
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
- z; d5 b5 @' Z( e2 v& X· Experience working with and managing volunteers ) P V4 t6 a& C, K; y9 U& o- k
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
# L+ v- I- s. R· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events $ W4 K, _1 Q! M: b, Y- I; ?( V
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

3 A& Y( }" S; g1 T" {) WHours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
