A 20-year-old woman has been charged after a tenant found the dead body of a baby girl under a bed in a north-end Edmonton home last week.

& R4 q$ a, E! G. z7 r/ [Naomi Russell-Simpson is charged with committing an indignity to a body, neglect to obtain assistance in child birth and concealing the body of a child.. {. [7 A% g7 n: V" x5 c- k

The 20-year-old college student was granted bail Tuesday.* C7 ` h F( j2 r
$ `- M% E/ h" J1 Z7 B GPolice have released few details on the autopsy results, but said Tuesday the girl was born alive. The girl's death is still being labelled as suspicious and not a homicide.

The infant was found on March 19 when a man sharing a home at 69 Street and 130 Avenue, who would only identify himself as Wayne, entered the basement suite to do some laundry.$ ?- R6 H. F4 x8 S9 c. y( G( u+ Y- j

Wayne said his dog began barking and eventually led him to the body. He and his girlfriend called police after they saw a small hand in the bag.
