This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
0 K2 u7 W% M2 S% m! KEligibility Criteria
: ~0 f6 k9 J. E' R* Q+ z: w9 \All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
5 U1 Z* C7 B" h. s3 ?•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
) g+ i2 N+ Z- a7 k4 L' }; V5 t•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
- u: X. \" V2 M% [( w  T8 t# M•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
  A+ ^' ]9 U: n1 `$ U( }. C- o) E) Q•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
4 r  @$ D- e$ b3 f•Be eligible to work in Canada
9 n' a! a4 x: w, O* w•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
: t: x* V6 o0 L) R; ~$ [5 u•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
9 q8 e2 T2 Y  o3 K! R. FTime Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
