THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:* X& @8 M0 z8 c7 V) E
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
# x+ P) m$ t5 |This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.: l: m4 f* {: j3 F% `+ ` g. X
Eligibility Criteria
& a6 n# |- V/ _9 e1 r7 aAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:* V5 Z; E; F: a6 f
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less: ^6 N( I$ |# z: \' h
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
$ b9 G- _/ {3 _, @% s7 a•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English; g& V3 ?; N3 K
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada ( c/ f5 S" b5 G2 D. h1 s2 u* E
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field* L* n1 I, ?$ i; P/ r$ d+ E/ J
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
$ m: R- s+ p" m1 U Y+ t9 Q•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks
5 b8 H9 G L$ U( Y& E•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
