! t2 \; L% e5 X: a5 t! P24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
: L: q8 U: L% c) m6 QThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
9 k: ]8 \" f# S5 o, ~+ j/ j•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
$ }4 }% B: W, c3 i•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
# T, G7 Q; x& Y: ~/ ^•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
: ]( i- E1 c3 K•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
& N5 Q, T) K$ J, u# {  b6 ~The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
