(i.e., a doctor's note) is not required for student absences due to

do in the event that you find yourself ill.

In this and any flu season, it is important to take responsibility for# S' }* M8 @7 }: ~: q* x
your own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the3 V; C7 y' t" G& P
influenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close
" [+ Z# p* W, X' [$ y5 U% pcontact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
$ x9 h ?! X0 R* }. G; Odoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and+ u9 h* r+ S8 S8 o+ M* {
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.
. M+ t! r7 L: D% |Practicing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your# P' ?1 ~7 D0 N8 l9 k0 N* {! i3 ^
cough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta
: U7 B$ J( r# v! OHealth and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of7 l1 G; K' q# K% K
